SOLVED. Ya or Na. A big football star there was only ever one girl for him etc & she’s back she turned up at the wake of the woman who ran the foster home they grew up in in this rough neighbourhood but she had disappeared on him years ago w/o explanation

It starts off just before she enters the house and when she does go in and sees him he’s bitter and angry of course because she left years ago without saying a word so he turns away. I think his name is Grant but I might be wrong!! She eventually drops two massive bombs on him (the secrets) and yeah.

She soon tells him the truth about what happened. She became pregnant but with them on different sides of the legal age (it wasn’t a big age gap I don’t think but she was underage anyway) she knew his football career would get affected and he was on his way to college and she couldn’t ruin that so she never told him and left and raised the kid on her own. She’s back but there’s a reason she’s back and it’s because she has Parkinson’s and she explains it. So she needed to make sure her daughter was taken of and she has no choice but to hope he’ll take care of her (her mother was a druggie and died anyway sometime when she’d gone) and then it’s a getting-back-together kinda book because he moves them into his house and they stay and he connects with his daughter and they obvs end up back together (not straight away of course).
