Bummer! That is sad news. What made it boring, in your opinion?

And I still have to get to Night Broken Can't wait to hear what you think!

I know, right? How can you resist a nun assassin?

Jorran | 184 comments In the past few days, I've caught up on 3 series by reading:
Dark Skye (Immortals After Dark #14) by Kresley Cole #14 in the the IAD, Air Bound (Sea Haven/Sisters of the Heart, #3) by Christine Feehan #3 in Sisters of the Heart and Fatal Jeopardy (Fatal, #7) by Marie Force #7 in Fatal.

Finished the following books in 3 new series:
Colton (Scorpio Sons, #1) by Nhys Glover #1, Connor (Scorpion Sons, #2) by Nhys Glover #2, and Scorpio Sons 3 Cooper by Nhys Glover #3 in the Scorpio Sons;
No Turning Back (Kathleen Turner, #1) by Tiffany Snow #1 and Turn on a Dime - Blane's Turn (Kathleen Turner, #1.5) by Tiffany Snow #2 of Kathleen Turner;
and Freefall (Custom Culture, #1) by Tess Oliver #1 of Custom Culture.

I also finished Most Talkative Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture by Andy Cohen by Andy Cohen

Jorran | 184 comments I am now reading the following:

The Back-Up Plan by Debra Webb (50%). Not holding my attention. The H is not alpha enough and I'm not liking the h. Hopefully I'll be able to tough it out.

Turn to Me (Kathleen Turner, #2) by Tiffany Snow (37%). After the big reveal in book one, I'm not liking where this book is going with the romance so even if I finish this one, I'm not sure I'll continue with the series.

Inferno (Devil Chaser's MC, #1) by L. Wilder (28%). Can't see the members of MC talking the way this book is written. Just doesn't ring authentic. Not sure if I'll be able to finish.

Immortal (Fallen Angels, #6) by J.R. Ward #6 of the Fallen Angels (12%). Started this evening but as usual, it takes me a while (long pauses and stops between pages) to get into the books of this series. It's too close to real religion (if that makes sense).

You are cranking them out! I haven't started Tiffany Snow's series but have the books so I hope it gets better.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments Jonetta wrote: "You are cranking them out! I haven't started Tiffany Snow's series but have the books so I hope it gets better."

Jorran and Jonetta - I finished Snow's newest book (new series Ivy) and I'm afraid I had a tough time getting through it. When I finish my review I will post - but i found the suspense lacking and I did not feel any chemistry for the couple.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments I am reading book 2 of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series The Black Ice (Harry Bosch, #2) by Michael Connelly . I am also rereading Kim Harrison's first bookin her Hollows series Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison on audio.

message 308: by Jorran (new)

Jorran | 184 comments Jonetta, I hope when you get to them you'll like them more than I do but somehow, I doubt it.

Kris, I had a tough time getting through these too but I am trying to give the series the test of three.

There are some things that really creeps me out when reading romance and one of them is in this series.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments Jorran - I was thinking of giving of her Kathleen Turner series a shot hoping it was just this book. After hearing your feedback I might try something else instead. Even in In His Shadow I was getting a bit of creepy vibe rather than a strong romance story.

I finished Player vs Player by Amelia C. Gormley, which was interesting but the focus on the issues overwhelmed the mystery and the romance. Review to come.

I'm now reading Vision of Darkness by Tonya Burrows, D. I. E. Squadron #1. Not really interested in starting a new series but I'm a big fan of this author.

Have you read The Iron Knight yet, Monica?

I expected to really like it because of all the Puck and Ash (and, as usual, I did adore Puck!). I found the endless walking around very boring and I found the concept of 'the gauntlet' kind of silly. I then found the big ending a little too sickly sweet but at the same time, a bit anti-climactic after all of the struggle to get to that point. I was disappointed for sure. I'm still going to keep going with Ethan's spin-off though.

Glad you're enjoying it so much Erin. I felt like someone really needed to smack Christy upside the head (or maybe several someones :-D) but they're all so darn grown-up about her. :-D Now I'm even more excited for the next Alpha and Omega book. Is it March yet?

It was the kind of reading experience that is hanging on to the point of interfering with trying to get into my next book.
