Usually in reading a series there is usually one book thats a dud, but I loved every book in this series.
Thanks for the recs, ladies.@Sunny - I know for a fact I have the first book in the Disillusionists trilogy. It's sitting in a stack by my nightstand. :-)
@Mary - I usually enjoy Baldacci's stuff but haven't made it to the King & Maxwell books yet. I did watch the short run series on TNT channel before it was canceled. I liked it.
I'm starting A Breath of Snow and Ashes
as an audiobook. I'm going to burn up my phone battery with this tome.

Thanks for rev. I will read this before #2 definitely.

. That fits, what you are looking for maybe. Romance is minimal, but I think it grows in the next book.
I finished reading Fallen (Will Trent #5) by Karin Slaughter. This is probably my favorite book by Slaughter. I could not put it down. I was listening and then reading the ebook version when I couldn't listen. Such a good story, but the growth of the characters felt like a reward for hanging in there with them through a series or two. And the lack of growth for others felt like its own kind of reward (even if I feel a smidgen evil for saying that). But I'm trying not to get too comfortable, Slaughter has a way of turning your world upside down. I'm already jumping into the next book (a novella), Snatched.
Laura wrote: "I just read Hunted (The Profiler, #1) by Elizabeth Heiter. That fits, what you are looking for maybe. Romance is minimal, but I think it grows in the next book."Sounds good! Thanks!
I finished Shadow Man also, gave it 5 stars! I am now reading A Dark and Twisted Tide Lacey Flint series! The last book of this series, Yay!
I just finished
.I was disappointed by the story kind of dragging along, then the pat ending. I'll find the discussion, and I'll read the next in the series. Maybe this was a fluke for me.
I finished Divided in Death last night and The Rise of Nine today. Will start Scandalous Desires on audio.

Tough book but really good (Shadow Man).

Jonetta I loved Shadow Man! I had to put it down a couple times, during some of the horrifying parts but I loved it! Most horrifying book I ever read! My kind of book though!
This week I read
Ten Reasons to Stay by Sabrina Jeffries. It's a 91 page novella that needed a lot more pages to develop the characters. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Then I read
Too Far Gone by Marliss Melton. Another excellent romantic suspense story. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I read the novella, "Heaven Can't Wait," by Pamela Clare. I found it in a paperback anthology from the library:
.I am still waiting for the Pamela Clare book for this month to come in from the library system; it's been "In Transit" for a long time.
I finished A Reckless Desire by Isabella Bradford, Breconridge Brothers #3, and enjoyed this final book in the series. Here's my review.
I'm now reading He Will be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker.

I finished listening to When Gods Die by C.S. Harris, Sebastian St. Cyr #2 and loved it. Here's my review. I'm really glad this is one of our series group reads as having so many participants in the discussion is helpful.

Mary Beth, the Maggie O'Dell series requires the use of the "two-book" rule:) The first book has some issues but the second definitely improves.

"Enjoy Kate Daniels. Book one has a lot of information dump and world building, but hang in there, I promise it is worth the effort.
