I was doing the dishes while listening to that part and said, "No!" My family all stopped what they were doing and thought something had happened. I just awkwardly smiled and said, "Stupid character." And that's all I need to say for my family to understand, lol.

My jaw literally dropped open. I had to rewind.

Finished book 2
. I'm switching it up and starting
. I need a change from the intense books I've been reading.
I've got the second Will Trent here, but I may have to skim Triptych first, since I had a less than stellar response the first time through. At least, I resisted the impulse to click on the Lena spoiler. She can spoil my reading and then give me hope enough when I read her as I encounter her in order. Yet, there's something about her that tugs places in my heart and I wish I knew what makes her tick. All in good time, I hope....
I decided to read How to Howl at the Moon by Eli Easton which means I'm starting another new series (I've given up resisting -- that's just how I role these days :)). So far it's really cute. The author got the idea after reading Molly Harper's Naked Werewolf series and decided to do her own version but with dogs shifters (one of the heroes is the sheriff and a border collie :)) and an m/m romance.

And that's the contradiction called Lena:)

Dog shifters? That sounds interesting!

Liz (Bugetta) wrote: "I decided to read How to Howl at the Moon by Eli Easton which means I'm starting another new series (I've given up resisting -- that's just how I role these days :)..."Don't resist! It's impossible, that's why for my 2016 goals I'm allowing myself to start 25 new series this year. Lol
I was reading The Score (Book 3 Off-Campus) by Elle Kennedy, but I just can't seem to get into it. There's too much sex, even if it's just in the characters' heads or what they're talking about. I'm no prude, but I need more story. And I've found that I've grown bored with the steamier reads lately. So I'm putting it to the side for now. I have seen nothing but rave reviews, so I'm sure it's just my mood right now.Anyhoo, I have switched to listening to Taken with You (Book 8 The Kowalskis) by Shannon Stacey. I just realized I only have two more books in this series. So I can include it in my challenge.

Sunny wrote: "I totally agree, Monica. Give yourself a break. I'm doing the same...."Glad to know I'm not the only one!
I decided to finally crack open Up From the Grave (book 7 Night Huntress) by Jeaniene Frost. I have been putting this book off since it's release. While I was a little disappointed, it was a good enough end to the series. I did at times feel like I was reading an adult version of Breaking Dawn (insert awkward face emoji), but overall I enjoyed it.

funny, I've been putting that one off, too I should put that on my list of series to finish this year. (I forgot about it completely)
I wanted to read the third Night Prince book so I took care of it last year. Apparently, that book will spoil the last Night Huntress book.
Sunny wrote: "funny, I've been putting that one off, too I should put that on my list of series to finish this year. (I forgot about it completely)"I'd forgotten about it too, Sunny, until I was browsing my Kindle library while planning out my 2016 reading.
Jonetta wrote: "Liz (Bugetta) wrote: "I decided to read How to Howl at the Moon by Eli Easton which means I'm starting another new series (I've given up resisting -- that's just ho..."It was really cute and I definitely felt the Naked Werewolf series influence (it was so not a dark and serious shifter story :)). I thought the reason why dogs become shifters was really clever. And if you're a dog person you'll probably enjoy it even more (I'm totally a cat person but I find dogs and their relationship with humans totally fascinating).
So How to Howl at the Moon done and now I'm reading Life Lessons (another new series - but it has been on my tbr for several years - my justification :)).
Jonetta wrote: "It is impossible for me to browse my Kindle. I'm envious."Haha, I am in the same boat!
Laura wrote: "Liz (Bugetta) wrote: "I decided to read How to Howl at the Moon by Eli Easton which means I'm starting another new series (I've given up resisting -- that's just ho..."That's a good idea to set a limit on the number of new series to start. I think I'll look at what I did last year and since I'm trying to only start new series that are already on my tbr (meaning books I already own), I'll also look at my tbr and figure out a realistic number. I'm also finding a lot of times a book I thought was a standalone turns into a start of a new series, so even when I'm trying not not start new series, it happens anyway!
Monica wrote: "I was reading The Score (Book 3 Off-Campus) by Elle Kennedy, but I just can't seem to get into it. When it's not really part of the story, just a fantasy or something like that, it starts to feel like filler. Plus, there are only so many ways you can write sex scenes, so it starts to get boring and repetitive. I just finished a book that I swear was half sex scenes half story (and it would have been much better with more story). I got to the point where every time there was another sex scene I just rolled my eyes and skimmed.

Because you don't have unread books? Or because you have your reading all planned out? Does not compute! :-D

Sins of the past...too many freebies from when I first started that have just cluttered my library.

Too many freebies! And too much to scroll through that is unread, lol!
I'm a little behind in posting my books:I read
A Perfect Evil by Alex Kava. I liked the suspense story but thought the romance portion was lacking. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I also read
Kissing Frosty/ The Boss, the Baby and the Bride by Anne Stuart. The only story I read in this book was "Kissing Frosty". I thought it was amusing. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Today I finished
Don't Let Go by Marliss Melton. This was a nice addition to her Navy SEAL series. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I started the third Troubleshooters book, and now I've drawn a blank. Did I say this yesterday somewhere???

Got it! Lol. I couldn't imagine either of you with no books to read. It's the opposite problem. :-D One I'm quite familiar with!
I did figure out a way to make searching through the ridiculous number of books in my cloud a little easier (though you still need to have some sort of idea what you're looking for). When you're in the cloud adding to a collection where you see the page number on the bottom right you can touch it and a search window comes up. If you've got it sorted by title it let's you search by "title starting with..." and if you have it sorted by author it's "author starting with..." It's still a pain to find something but at least you can narrow things a bit!
I'm trying read some of my freebies and those book languishing on my TBR by reading at least 1 "off the shelf" every month. At this rate, it will only take me 429 months (that's a mere 36 years if I stop collecting now) to finish. Yay!

I only get the freebies for authors I've read or series I know I want to read. Unfortunately, I didn't start limiting my freebies until a couple of years ago. Between late 2010 through 2012? Ugh.
Lauren wrote: "I've put a moratorium on the freebies. No more until I've read the ones I have!"I'm trying to do this, too. Temptation, thy name is Freebies!
I have a hard time resisting the freebies too. I'm trying to at least read a sample before before I one-click but sometimes I don't have time. I also created a freebies collection on my kindle, so they're all in one place now. :)
This evening I finished
, which I gave 4.5 stars. I was particularly impressed by the specific history of Denmark's resistance to Nazi Germany, even under occupation. This and Alzheimer's disease added to the high-jacked plane and all the poignant stories around its horrors and the teams' painstaking practice before attempting a rescue. This author can really write, imho.I also added the next one in the Troubleshooters series from the state library system, since our local library doesn't have this one in any of its branches.

I finished listening to Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley, Colorado Mountain #2, and loved it. This was 25 hours of addicted listening...couldn't put it down. 4.5 stars.
I'm now listening to Bay at Midnight by Diane Chamberlain.

I did that too (one collections for those I've read and one for the ones to read). I also deleted quite a few that I know I will never read.
