I love this series, especially the audio version. I stalled waiting for the 5th book's release when it took Auel 10 years to write it!

Oh my... I didn't realize there was such a delay between books. That's the highlight of beginning a series late I guess.
I am really enjoying it too. I have always liked an underdog and a society of people that weren't thought of as people is that. The romance doesn't hurt either. :)

The first four books were released when I started but it took her forever to finish the fifth. The romantic element was a surprise and just about wrecked me!

I know I read the first four Auel books when they came out, but I've missed numbers 5 & 6. Now I wonder whether I should pick up these hefty volumes (assuming that they are many pages each). I'd be glad to see a discussion of the pros and cons of the last two books in this set.
Laura (Kyahgirl) wrote: "I just finished Brown-Eyed Girl. It was a sweet and fitting end to the series. It was not as long or involved as books 1 or 2 but very enjoyable."
I agree, Laura. Nothing spectacular but a satisfying read.

This week I read
Falling for Max by Shannon Stacey. It's the last book in her Kowalski Family series and an excellent conclusion to the series. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Last night I finished
The Rogue's Bride by Leslie LaFoy. It's the second book in her Turnbridge Sisters series. I liked that the heroine was no simpering miss and could take care of herself. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished Just A Taste by Shannyn Schroeder, the O'Leary's #5. While I enjoyed it, it was just okay. The romance just never connected for me.
I also finished All for Love by Susanne Matthews, a book I won earlier this year. It was interesting and I enjoyed it but it had tons of errors and typos. Working with the author now to get her publisher to fix it, including the book blurb not matching the character names in the story.
I'm now reading Training Complex by Leta Blake.

Well, I finished listening to Beyond Reach by Karin Slaughter, last book in the Grant County series, and I'm still in shock. Here's my review. After I catch my breath, I'll jump back into the Will Trent series.
I'm now listening to Under My Skin by J. Kenner, the final book in the Stark International series.

Last night I read
How to Catch a Wild Viscount. It was Tessa Dare's first published novella, originally titled "The Legend of the Werestag".My Review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am currently reading
It has been a while since I read her books, I forgot how much I love her books.
I'm reading the latest Bess Crawford [WWI English nurse] mystery,
.It took me a while to get into the story, but now I'm committed to finding out the answers.

I am about half way through it already. Love it!

I finished that one the other day and really enjoyed it. It was better than the first book and I'm looking forward to book #3

I've begun to read the next Kathy Reichs book,
, the third in the series. This one begins with Tempe being called to Montreal a little early to deal with a motorcycle gang war/bombing and with innocent children being "collateral damage."
There may also be a bit of Tempe's personal life coming into this story -- not sure yet.
I finished Books #3 & #4 in Kathy Reichs' Temperance Brennan series, back-to-back:
and
I liked the first of these better than the second, but I will definitely continue reading through the series.
Kris - My Novelesque Life wrote: "I am listening to Fair Game by Patricia Briggs."I need to get to this one! It's up next for me in the series.
I finished listening to Vision in Silver (book 3 The Others) by Anne Bishop. I also finished reading Beg for Mercy (book 1 Dead Wrong) by Jami Alden and enjoyed it. I had a few issues, but that was probably more me than the story. Now I'm reading Hide from Evil (book 2 Dead Wrong) and listening to The Heiress Effect (book 2 Brothers Sinister) by Courtney Milan.
I read
The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason. It's the first book in her Gardella Vampire Chronicles. I've owned this book for a long time. I wish I had read it sooner. It has the feel of Buffy the Vampire Slayer set in Victorian England. I'm looking forward to the next book.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I am having a bit of trouble finding the time to listen to it but I am really enjoying it!
Finished
- it was OK but I never really warmed up to Eve's character. Kristoff was wonderful though.

I've been out of town since last Wednesday but I have been reading!
I finished listening to Under My Skin by J. Kenner, final book in the Stark International trilogy, and I very much enjoyed it. First time I was able to speed up the performance in the updated iTunes and it made a huge difference. Nice end to the series.
I finished Training Complex by Leta Blake, follow up to the first book, Training Season. I struggled to get through this book as it dealt with two topics that don't appeal to me: eating disorders and true BDSM relationships. If you're a fan of m/m Dom/sub romances, this story would be an excellent choice as it not only explores the dynamics of those relationships but overlays the impact of one partner's association with eating disorders or disordered eating. Interesting but just not my interest.
I read Malice, the new prequel in the Southern Comfort series by Lisa Clark O'Neill. Loved it as it dealt with one of the Wellington brothers who appears in small roles throughout the series. It was nice getting his backstory. Highly recommend it as well as the excellent series. For those who haven't started it, you can begin here.
Lastly, I finished reading Hear No Lies by Stacy Green, a new prequel to the Lucy Kendall series. It was excellent and I finished it during the ride home yesterday. I'm even more conflicted about this character. Not sure if it's best to start here or read the books in the series first. It shouldn't matter.
I'll have reviews for all later.
I'm now reading The Seduction of Lord Stone by Anna Campbell, the first book in her new Dashing Widows series. It is connected to her Sons of Sins series and will be a series of novellas. I'm also listening to Fractured by Karin Slaughter, Will Trent #2.

Lauren wrote: "Finished

Last night I finished
Rhapsody in Time by Judith O'Brien. It's an excellent time-travel set during the Roaring Twenties. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
White Night by Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files #9) finally came available on my library overdrive account. I've been waiting over 2 months. So excited to be starting it.
I finished The Heiress Effect (book 2 Brothers Sinister) by Courtney Milan. I really liked those one, and Rosalyn Landor is an excellent narrator. Now I am listening to Dark Heir (book 9 Jane Yellowrock) by Faith Hunter. This will bring me up to date on this series finally. Until the next one is released, lol. Lauren, how long ago did we start this series? Haha, slowly but surely we can get caught up.

I know!
I'll be reading
this month. I love the direction the series is going in with Jane and Bruiser. I really hope Jane doesn't screw it up, lol!

Now if Jane could just stop blaming herself for everything, I'd have zero complaints.
I read
Something About You by Julie James. I gave this book 5 Stars. I love a smart heroine (and we don't get to see a lot of them in romantic suspense). My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

That annoys me too. I was really hoping she would stop doing after she gave Big Evan what for in Black Arts!

I finally finished a book! Lol! I finished If You Only Knew by Kristan Higgins. It was such a different kind of book for Higgins. I definitely would not describe it as a romance which is what I was expecting. More contemporary fiction I would say (some may label it 'women's fiction' but I know that's a very unpopular term around here :)). I enjoyed it for what it was but I hope this isn't Higgins' new style as I would miss her romances deeply!I have no clue what to read next!
Let me know if you'd like to chat about it and I'll open a discussion topic for it in the book discussion group.
What are you in the mood to read or listen to?

Sure! I'd love to chat about it. :)
I originally planned to read either Brown-Eyed Girl by Kleypas or Deceptions by Kelley Armstrong but BEG is $13.99 for the ebook which is only 300 pages and I'm not keen on spending that so I'm going to try and wait until the price comes down somewhat. The Armstrong title will eventually be picked up by my library but they don't have it yet and the ebook is $19.99 so I'm back at square one! Lol!
I think I'll poke around the library and see if anything catches my eye.
Jonetta wrote: "I'm listening to the Maiden Lane series right now and am enjoying it."I've heard a lot about this series. I think I even own the first book. I might give it a chance!
I finished The Seduction of Lord Stone by Anna Campbell and enjoyed it, looking forward to the next two books in this novella series.
I also finished listening to Fractured by Karin Slaughter and it was great being back to Will Trent. Of course, I'm dying to jump right into the next book but....
I finished Everything I Left Unsaid by Molly O'Keefe, a truly extraordinary piece of writing. I was warned by O'Keefe that it ends with a cliffhanger so I thought I'd just read a little of the next book but I find myself already at 25% so I think I'll just continue until the end with The Truth About Him.
I'm also listening to Under the Lights by Shannon Stacey.
