What series are you reading?
Today I'm reading the tenth book in the Rizzoli & Isles series, by Tess Gerritsen:
.So far it's another odd one, but also intriguing. I have to admit the Mephisto Club is not my favorite group in fiction, but the thing happening to foster children is scary and I'm not far enough to have a clue. Don't expect to get one, for that matter....
I finished Three Proposals and a Scandal by Anna Campbell, Sons of Sin #4.2, and loved it! 4.5 stars and a nice story for the beleaguered Marianne Seaton.
I finished listening to Love After All by Jaci Burton, Hope #4, and it was much better than the previous story, an honest, mature romance.
Lastly, I finished Temptation by Robin Covington, Nashville Nights #1, and it was a solid 3 stars. Here's my review.
I'm now reading Cold Moon by Alexandra Sokoloff, The Huntress/FBI #3, and listening to Redemption by B.J. Daniels, Beartooth Montana #2.

I am glad to hear that :)
I finished listening to Love After All by Jaci Burton earlier and here's my review.
I just finished listening to Redemption by B.J. Daniels, Beartooth, Montana #2, and here's my review.
I'm now listening to A Faint Cold Fear by Karin Slaughter, Grant County #3.

Enjoy A Faint Cold Fear, Jonetta!

Thanks, Kris
I think I did enjoy it a bit better than the first, but that's speaking of degrees of difference that are close :)
I'm certainly wondering about follow-through with the recuperation at the end of the book! I'll be ordering the next book in this series soon.
I'm on a mystery series kick this week. I began #6 in the Bess Crawford {WW I nurse} series, by Charles Todd:
.I'm really engaged with this story already. A good thing about the series is that one can pick up the next book and catch up with the main characters instantly.

I think I read up to book 3 in the series and I remember that I thought it got better with each book.

I have only read book one in the Bess Crawford but I really liked it. I think it is one you would like, Jonetta.

I've also only read book #1 but it was really good. I need to get back to the series soon.

This week I read a couple of books. First was
House Rules by Chloe Neill. Great addition to the series. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I attempted to read
Hot Dish by Connie Brockway. I like her historical romances but I just could not get into this story. DNF for me.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Yesterday I read
Deadly Offerings by Alexa Grace. She's a new author for me. This book had some problems and was in dire need of an editor. I found several mistakes throughout the book.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Any interest in buddy reads of Bess Crawford series will draw my attention. I may go back and re-read if y'all start with Book 1.
I believe Lauren has recently read the first one but it's been awhile for me so I might do it on audio if you wAnna join me, Charlene.
@Kris and Charlene - It hasn't been that long since I read book #1 so I'll skip the re-read. How does September or October sound for book #2?
I read
Deadly Deception by Alexa Grace. It's the second book in the Deadly Trilogy. This book started off much better than the first book, but lost steam somewhere along the way.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I just finished the most recent Thunder Point book by Robyn Carr,
, and I notice that my 3-star rating is lower than most readers gave it. The story should have appealed to me, and it should have satisfied me, since I especially liked its predecessor {Grace and Troy's story}. The follow-up to that was good, so was the introduction of new characters, but the baggage-laden romance between Ginger and Matt just did not work for me, as much as I wanted it to.

I was hoping for late August, Charlene. I will let you know when I get the time :) I'm excited to get back into the series :)
Jonetta wrote: What didn't work for you?I think part of it was timing, Jonetta.
Ginger seemed to have made such strides in her recovery since we saw her in the last book, and I wondered if the time between books in the story world was sufficient for the necessary stages of grief to take place. Of course, it would be great if real life happened this way....
Likewise, I didn't think Matt could have been so transformed to tender lover -- from slutty guy -- and considering marriage when his double baggage (including keeping the big secret, that wasn't such a secret for the reader) from his first marriage was tying him in emotional knots.
It just didn't ring true to me, and I fully admit I'm standing outside, looking in at all the 4 and 5 star reviews.

Well, I just couldn't wait, since I already had this book out from the library. When someone begins a discussion or buddy read, I'll come back and see if my memory holds.I'm now reading
, the next in the Kate Burkholder series. It's beginning well.

I was just curious. Don't worry about all the other 4 or 5 star reviews as it's your personal experience. Grace's emotional growth felt right to me as most of that began in the last book. Matt's was pretty fast, though. I just liked him:)

I finished listening to A Faint Cold Fear by Karin Slaughter and I'm still speechless. This is one of the most emotionally complex series I've read in a long time, if ever. Nothing predictable about it. 4 stars.
I finished two reviews for books I read earlier. Here's my review for Three Proposals and a Scandal by Anna Campbell and my review of Memory Man by David Baldacci.
I'm now listening to Gone Missing by Linda Castillo.

Oh wow Jonetta...you are really moving slower than my binge reading devil could handle with Grant County. Three more to go before we can talk about how truly emotionally wrecking she can be to the reader. Now I think I need to do a re-read of the series.
I know, Dawn. I'm really thinking in August I'll go ahead and knock them off. I'm dying to finish the series. Maybe then we can open a discussion for the series as a whole.

I've been reading so many stand alones lately, but finally read a book in one of my 2-3-4 series: But My Boyfriend Is
by K.A. Mitchell. This is the final book in the first m/m series I ever read. I cheated and skipped book three because the main character didn't interest me at all. The MC in this book is the younger brother of one of the MCs in book two, so I had to read it. It was really good. Next up for me is Focus on Me
by Megan Erickson.
I am now listening to Concealed in Death by JD Robb and am reading Blood and Circuses by Kerry Greenwood.
I finished the latest book in another Amish mystery series by P. L. Gauss:
.I discovered this series some time ago, way before I found Linda Castillo's Kate Burkholder series.
They are centered in the same areas of NE Ohio, where I live, but they have a completely different feel to them.
