What series are you reading?
For the last couple of months I've been in a "read old books from TBR" kick so I've been reading lots of first in series and standalones. Right now, I'm reading three books
, which I haven't finished but I'll probably won't continue - I'm not impressed with what I've read so far.I'm also reading
, a sci-fi romance, which is taking a long time to get going but with it being over 500 pgs., it probably needs to develop slowly.I'm also still listening to
, which I'll probably have to put on hold for a while because I'm starting a buddy read tomorrow and I only have the audio.
Jonetta wrote: "I'm loving "clearing out" my TBR, too. Though I'll never see it at zero."LOL, that's not possible!
What I'm trying to do is just read books that have been on my TBR for a year or more instead of just reading recent stuff. Of the books above, the first one has been on my TBR since 2013 and the second one since 2011! I'm trying to avoid them celebrating their 2 and 4 year anniversary on my TBR! Hahahaha!

I have a goal for this year to read at least 10 books off the last page of my Shelfari bookshelf. I will continue it next year but use the date added on GR. It has also helped me tidy up my TBR list because if I keep skipping a book then I obviously do not want to read it and off it goes.
Hats off to both of you, especially trying to clear the books with the longest shelf life. Enjoy!
I finished listening to Dark Places by Gillian Flynn last night and it is aptly titled. It's one of those stories you can't stay away from though you're also repelled by. Here's my review.
I'm now back to my favorite detective, Harry Bosch, listening to The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly.

Hope you enjoy The Last Coyote.

Oh, Tracey, it was a very interesting read. I hope you'll try it. Gone Girl is twisted, this one is dark. Two very different books and characters.

So glad you two - Jonetta and Tracey - are reading Bosch as I will need motivation for the next book :)
I've started a lot of new series this year, and I've either caught up on, or completed a few as well. Right now I'd like to continue with the Highland Guard series,
and the Blossom Street series,
We'll see lol
I'm eager to continue with the series. I'm just waiting for my new Visa card to arrive, since mine was compromised and I had to cancel it. Otherwise I might have a sprain from the one clicking I've been wanting to do lol
I am almost finished a mini binge read of Allison Leotta Anna Curtis series. I finished the first three novels and novella and will start on the fourth book A Good Killing: A Novel.
I just finished reading book 4 of the Dresden files by: Jim Butcher
and the conclusion of the infernal devices series by: Cassandra Clare.
The Infernal Device Trilogy was so good all the way through and I loved the ending more than any book in the last few years easy. 5 stars.
Just realized I haven't posted an update in awhile!
I finished Barefoot with a Bodyguard by Roxanne St. Claire, Barefoot Bay Undercover #1, and, despite the heroine having a couple of TSTL moments, I really enjoyed the story. The series is off to a great start and I'll post a review later.
I also finished Strange Bedfellows by Cardeno C., a sweet m/m romance. Here's my review.
Lastly, I finished listening to The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly, Harry Bosch #4, and loved it! It's chock full of twists and surprises, jaw droppingly so. Review to come.
I'm halfway through reading Back to Us by Christi Barth, Shore Secrets #3.
I'm now listening to Memory Man by David Baldacci, Amos Decker #1, and I'm already hooked. There's music to add to the drama and it's working.

I've finally begun to read the first book in a series that's been recommended to me,
. I've signed it out from the public library and need to read fast and/or renew.I hope it's a series I will like, since there are lots of books to read!

As long as you don't expect it to be anything like the TV series:)
I thought the early books were brilliant but not so much the recent ones.
Phrynne wrote: "Charlene wrote: "I've finally begun to read the first book in a series that's been recommended to me,

I am currently reading Shoot to Thrill by P.J. Tracy (hope to finish tomorrow), Magic and Misdemeanors by Michael Buckley and Sanctus by Simon Toyne.
Up next: Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward and The Astronaut Wives Club by Lily Koppel.
I finished
Her Last Breath by Linda Castillo. Another good mystery in the Kate Burkholder series. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I also read
Truth or Dare by Jo Leigh. Not my favorite by this author. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I finished Back to Us by Christi Barth, Shore Secrets #3. It was pretty lighthearted with some serious themes interjected. Here's my review.
I'm now reading Hope Burns by Jaci Burton, Hope #3.

Just finished reading Book 4 of Jonathan Maberry's Joe Ledger series: Assassin's Code
Currently reading Charlaine Harris' Dead Until Dark
and Cassandra Clare's City of Bones
I did finish
and liked it enough to order the second book in the series from the library.I haven't looked up the relative publishing dates between the Temperance Brennan series (here noted) and the Rizzoli & Isles series, but I have to say my biggest reservation here was that the (view spoiler).
I hope this doesn't continue, nor the few TSTL actions by the heroine.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I'm reading
Slow Heat in Heaven by Sandra Brown. Her older books are hit and miss for me. So far this one is keeping my interest, but the heroine had a huge TSTL moment in the first 100 pages.
Robin wrote: "I'm reading

There's a lot of villain sex in that book.

I'm afraid it does happen again as does the TSTL actions. One of my biggest gripes with the series. However I still read all of them:)
I finished the third and final book
in Loretta Chase's series about French sisters who are dressmakers in 1830s London.
Charlene wrote: "I finished the third and final book

Robin, I liked them (I think I gave them all 4 stars).
I especially liked several of the characters in this third book, but my memory is not what it should be, so I'm guessing I liked the way the H/h matches came about in all.
They are three sisters, so the stories do follow up with previous characters. Not one is a cliff-hanger, though. Self-contained stories...
If you read them, I'd like to know your opinion of them.
I finished Hope Burns by Jaci Burton, Hope #3, and it was just okay. I've enjoyed the series to date and this one is the weakest. Not bad...here's my review.
I also finished reading The Maid's Quarters by Holly Bush, Crawford Family #2.5, a sweet, short historical romance.
Lastly, I finished listening to Memory Man by David Baldacci, Amos Decker #1, and loved it! It's one of the few times I was completely stumped through most of the story. The dual narrators gave voice to their characters anytime they had dialogue so that was a bit different but I liked it, as well as dramatic background music at times. 4.5 stars
I'm now reading Hailey's Truth by Cate Beauman, The Bodyguards of L. A. County #3, and listening to Love After All by Jaci Burton, Hope #4. I'm already preferring listening to this series.

You are so right, Jonetta! I'm only on chapter 3 and my fingers are itching to make him an anti-hottie :0(

When I saw your post, I thought, "Uh,oh." Erin was never able to forgive him.

I finished listening to Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith a couple of weeks ago but just wrote the review. Loved this story! Here's my review.
I'm currently reading Sanctus by Simon Toyne and am really enjoying it. There are many characters and the chapters jump around to each of them, but it's easy to follow.
