Did you know they made a movie in 2009 with Gary Oldman? I just checked it out on IMDb. I may have to see if I can find it. Maybe on Netflix.

Yeah, this might be a Japanese version. The trailer was spoken in English (as in no subtitles). It only got 1.5 stars on IMBd, but sometimes those low rated movies are good...maybe :)

I just read a ream of reviews...BAD movie. too bad that they have to destroy a good book with a bad interpretation for the screen. :(
Oh, well, may KR will do a better job.

I met this author at a book signing in Pittsburgh a few years ago. I remember he was a cutie (that is what drew me to his table) and his books sounded interesting too, so I picked up the first one. Still haven't read it. Maybe your review will give me incentive.

I've only seen pictures of him (jealous). I hope to be finished by the weekend and will post a review shortly thereafter, but read D.G.'s (message 1328). It's a great review.

Not to go waaay off topic, but another cute author is Pierce Brown. I follow him on Instagram and he is funny and adorable, and knows how to write a good story.
I just finished Stay with Me by J. Lynn, book 3 in her Wait for You series and I was slightly disappointed, which is really hard for me to admit. J. Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout) is one of my top fave authors. Also, the hero kept calling the MC honey! I can't escape that stinkin' endearment if my life depended on it. But the last 40% was really good and redeemed itself.

I must say I'm surprised as I know how much you like Armentrout.

I finished the following Lucky Break, Chicagoland Vampires #10.5, Hard as You Can, Hard Ink #2, Rule, Marked Men #1, Jet, Marked Men #2, Hard to Hold on To, Hard Ink #2.5, Hard to Come By, Hard Ink #3 and Rome, Marked Men #3.
Finished
by P.J. Tracy, Monkeewrench #3, and I gave it 5 ★. So looking forward to reading book #4,
.

I just finished my second Linda Castillo book,
. Kate Burkholder is quite a police chief, and I really like her out-of-town state expert, Agent John Tomasetti. This series has me intrigued....

Pierce Brosnan is SO cute! I loved him as Remington Steele and he is aging so well :0)

I'm really enjoying the series as well.
If you are interested, Jonetta and I were thinking of doing a buddy read of the third book next month.

If you read my status of that first book, I almost dnfed it but decided to continue when I saw Mr. Eisler pic and that of that first narrator who was also totally hot!!! Hahahahaha!
I'm glad I continued because I became a huge fan of the series. If you are going to continue though, do not read the descriptions of books 3 onwards before you get to the books. My paranoia of not reading book descriptions of later books in the series paid off in this case. I was totally shocked at something that happened!
Anyhow, I'm up to book 5 now - it was very emotional for me so I'm still digesting what happened...I'm still yet to write the review a year after I read it! I feel that once I write the review, I'll be ready to continue the series.

I am about halfway through Summer Is for Lovers by Jennifer McQuiston and I am really enjoying it. This is book 2 in the Second Sons series.
Finished listening to
, Marked Men #4. This is my least favorite in the series because while I loved Nash, I couldn't stand Saint.

I finished Barefoot by the Sea by Roxanne St. Claire, Barefoot Bay #4. I loved how the series ended and how they've shown up in the spin offs. I wasn't looking forward to Tessa's story, which is probably why it took so long for me to read it. Turns out it was really good. Should have known.
I'm now reading A Rake's Midnight Kiss by Anna Campbell, Sons of Sin #2.

I'll have to give the first couple of books a try and see if I like them. I own the first one and am pretty sure my library has the others. Thanks for the advice on not reading the backblurb. I don't want to discover any spoilers before I actually get to read the book.
I am caught up with Brooklyn Ann's Bite Me, Your Grace series. Another fabulous book in the paranormal historical romance.
Finished
- this is a great series (although there have been one or two weaker books) and this installment is one of the best. I really enjoyed the slow burn office romance type story.

I started the Protect and Serve series by Norah Wilson with a bang, really enjoyed the first Guarding Suzannah, the second Saving Grace was ok and the third Protecting Paigeis barely readable it is such an inane plot, oh well that is a couple off the TBR list.

They are soooo fun! Lol. I get that same fun feeling reading them that I got from Lisa Kleypas's Wallflower series (just to give you a sense).
Kris wrote: "They are soooo fun! Lol. I get that same fun feeling reading them that I got from Lisa Kleypas's Wallflower series (just to give you a sense)...."Well, this series is now on my TBR, lol. Love the Wallflowers, so that is high praise!
lol! Sorry about tease. I had not really read historical romances and Kleypas was an author that changed my mind and as you both know I now enjoy that genre. This is another series that is a bit different - strong heroines, tortured heroes and great humour. It is not the Wallflowers but still great (if that makes sense).
I read Her Highland Fling by Jennifer McQuiston and loved it. It's book 2.5 (novella) in her Second Sons series. Some of you know I am not a big novella reader, I very rarely read them. Unless they have pertinent info for the series as a whole, I skip them. However, I really was drawn to Penelope from book 2 that I had to find out her HEA. And I was not disappointed. Far from it, in fact.

Now I've really got to find a way to squeeze the first book in next month.

I've set A Rake's Midnight Kiss just for the moment until I finish Secrets on the Sand by Roxanne St. Claire, which I "inadvertently " started:)
