What series are you reading?

I'm excited to start, mythology is my favorite genre. :D
I finished Hideaway Cove by Anna Sullivan, Windfall Island #2, and enjoyed it, though the author really seems to like writing stubborn heroines. Here's my review.
I'm now reading Blackberry Winter by Sarah Jio.

I started and finished Mercy Celeste's Southern Scrimmage series. It's an m/m romance series set in the world of football and they are completely over the top and unrealistic but I was able to overlook any problmes and just enjoyed the crazy ride. :) I also completed my first series by finishing Tough Love by Heidi Cullinan. It wasn't a great read though, so I was bummed to finish on a negative note.
Now I'm listening to Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs and it's really good so far!

Is Southern Scrimmage NA-ish?

No, definitely not NA. The first one starts off when the guys are in high school, but it's just the starting point of their relationship and the story jumps to different times when they meet again until the "present" time for the series, when they're in their early thirties. The other MCs are late twenties to early thirties. I warn you though, crazysauce abounds in this series, but Mercy Celeste is a really good storyteller, so I just decided to go with it, roll my eyes, and move along. :)

Dead Heat has been one of my favorite reads this year so far. I'm finishing up Arcadia Bell with
. Hard to let this series go. :(

Also, I've read the first Morganville Vampires book years ago and liked it, I don't know why I never got back to the series. I didn't realize that there were at least 12 in the series though!
I'm currently reading Secrets of a Summer Night
by Lisa Kleypas and Penmort Castle
by Kristen Ashley. Both are the first book in a series. I'm suppose to be working on continuing series, not starting new ones, but I can't help myself!
Oh, Amie but it's the Wallflower series!! Everyone understands your need to start that one. One of my favorite historical series (actually, it was my first).

I liked Of Poseidon wasn't all that impressed but it was a nice read.
And, there are a total of 15 books in the Morganville Vampires series! I am hoping the 15th is the last of them, lol.
Jonetta wrote: "Oh, Amie but it's the Wallflower series!! Everyone understands your need to start that one. I think I need to just give up and call it The Year of Starting As Many New Series As I Can and read like mad.

I know! What a beginning! I'm worried the ending is going to be pretty sad though. :(

And I've gone in the opposite direction. My ratio of old series to new starts clearly has leaned heavily on the old. But, aren't you having fun?

Stupid question alert:
How do you get the percentage when you listen to an audiobook? I'm always wanting to update my progress but can never figure it out. :)
Not a stupid question at all!
I divide the time I'm at by the total time of the audio and times by 100. I'm sure there is an easier way though, I just haven't found it.

Lol! Thanks, Lauren and Jonetta. I have always considered taking the time to do the math but I was convinced it must display somehow and I just didn't know how to find it. Guess not! I wish it would though!
It depends on which platform you're using. :)Overdrive is the only one I know that has a % completion for audiobooks (but you can only get it if you bookmark...it will tell you at what % your bookmark is.)
For Audible or if you're listening via the iPod, you're out of luck and have to calculate yourself. For Audible, I don't do it exactly and just approximate the % completion of the bar (it sort of looks like I'm 27%, LOL!) For the iPod, I just divide the parts I've completed by the number of parts. So if I've listened to 7 parts out of 11, I divide that and multiply by 100%.
Well I really hate to be a party pooper two books in a row but I just finished Out of the Shallows by Samantha Young (as an audiobook) and I hated it. It was all I could do to finish it. The first book in the series, Into the Deep I absolutely loved so I was quite surprised at how much I disliked the second and final book in the series. Well, at least I'm up do date on another series! Now I'm listening to Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas. I've been trying to make it to Nick Gentry's book for years and I'm determined to finish up this series now so that I can meet this famous character!
I finished Blackberry Winter by Sarah Jio and really liked the story. It was nothing like I imagined and was told through two characters, one in 1933 and thr other present day. Here's my review.
I'm now reading Last Chance by Christy Reece, Last Chance Rescue #6.

In the first book the story focused on the main couple who had been torn apart by tragedy in their teens. It was mondo angsty but I was rooting so hard for this couple that I was just breathless with it. It was one of those books. I loved it.
Let's just say that it felt like the author decided she wanted to tell the exact same story all over again so she created a bunch of new obstacles for this couple so we basically started over. Major frustration! And don't get me started on these 'obstacles'. I could go on but I won't.
I know there are lots of fans of this book out there and I hate to listen to someone hate on my much loved books so I'm so sorry to all of the Jake and Charlie fans out there!
I finished listening to The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood, narrated by Imogen Church. It was an interesting story, if not gruesome at times (the killer preserved his victims in his apartment).
Jumping off my plan to listen to The Shadows by J.R. Ward, BDB #13, narrated by Jim Frangione. Already hooked.

I hate it when authors do that or re-tell the same story from a different perspective. It reeks of an attempt to cash in on a successful first book while putting in next to no effort on a sequel :0(

Hmmm.... Sounds like my kind of book ;0)

Scratch that ... I just saw that it is written in the present tense. Did you have trouble with that, Jonetta?
I hadn't thought of that before but not that I recall. In fact, that may be one of the pluses because the tenants in the building create the story. You see the immediate cause and effect of one resident's actions on the others.
What almost took a toll on me was the very detailed, excruciating accounts of the body preservations...what worked, what didn't. Made me almost walk away from the book.

It really was. If I'd been reading it, I would have skipped the sections.

I am reading Whisper No Lies by Cindy Gerard #3 Black Ops Inc Series. A 3 - 4 stars series so far. Nothing that really stands out for me.
I am reading Murder on Lenox Hill by Victoria Thompson. It is the 7th book in the Gaslight mysteries and my first one in this series for 2015. I now realise how much I have missed it. It is a great historical mystery series set in New York in the early 20th century.

I just got the first book in the series. Looking forward to getting to it. Perhaps in April.

It sounds less cheesy than it reads, believe it or not! The narrator doesn't try to do the voices using any slang-y tone. That helps.
You haven't read Lover at Last??? I couldn't wait for that one to come out:)
