The most I can handle are two books at a time. I plow on until I'm done, no matter what:) Wish I had the ability to put one aside sometimes and read something else.

message 602: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I usually have two at a time (one ebook, one audio) which works great for me. But this time, I keep starting books. Right now I have 4 going without counting 2 or 3 that I've put aside on my 'may finish later' shelf. I have a pretty good idea of what's going on on the 4 books I'm reading but it makes me a bit anxious having so many at once.

I think I'll try to read a couple that are over 80% and then just work on two at a time.

Hopefully it will ease the anxiety.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) I usually have at least 3 to 5 books going at once. I'm am like a bad girlfriend and cannot be faithful to one book. I like settle down at night with a nice romance on my kindle before going to sleep. On my commutes to and from work on public transport, I like historical fiction and mysteries. During lunch I usually go for adventure in the form of time travel or murder mystery and then when cooking or quilting or walking or knitting my audio books are my companions. If I get bored with one, I just switch to a different one. Usually I get bored cause I'm so moody. The best is when a book is so good I can't concentrate on my other ones and I need to read it from beginning to end forsaking all others.

So you're a mood reader! Jaret does the same type of reading with her audiobooks.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) It all began in college when we were required to read multiple books for different classes. I found it to be fun. Now it depends on my mood, good to know I'm not the only one.

I know! I want to be more free with my reading this year and just read what I feel like reading but I think I need some structure. Otherwise, I'll go nuts!

I don't think it's too much of an age difference, 5 years. Currently it doesn't work, but in 2-3 years? I'm all for it.

Christina T (crysteena73) | 558 comments In the introduction thread I realized I hadn't greeted the last 10 people joining and thought I'd skipped that thread by mistake but it actually looks like I skipped this entire group for a month because this thread had over 350 new posts since I checked. Yikes. I had to just skip to the end.....way too many to go back and enjoy LOL.

I'm making a dent in the Love at Stake series. I'm half way through Sexiest Vampire Alive (Love at Stake, #11) by Kerrelyn Sparks but I've been reading them all out of order. I have 5 books left in the series to read (including this one) because I've already read the 13th book. I loved the first 3 books a lot but lately I've been finding these just OK nothing special.

Just finished Broken (Women of the Otherworld #6) by Kelley Armstrong which puts me about half way through that series and I also read By a Thread (Elemental Assassin, #6) by Jennifer Estep which also puts me about the middle. I managed to start a series too Masked by Moonlight (Moonlight, #1) by Nancy Gideon but I'm not sure I'll continue it.

I finished See Them Run by Stacy Green, Lucy Kendall #2. It's one of the more twisted books/series I've read in some time (where the main character is the one twisted). But, I'm loving it:) Here's my review.

I'm now reading Officer Elvis by Gary Gusick, Darla Cavannah #2.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I've just completed the third book in Katie Reus' Red Stone Security series, Fatal Deception (Red Stone Security, #3) by Katie Reus . It did not grab me nearly as much as the first two books.

Has anyone read through more than the first three books in this series? Was it worth your investment in time and money? [They don't seem to be carried by libraries]

I finished Officer Elvis by Gary Gusick, Darla Cavannah #2 and enjoyed it. The author does a great job of mixing the mystery, suspense, humor and southern life while keeping the story interesting. Here's my review.

I'm now reading Catch Your Breath by Shannyn Schroeder, The O'Leary's #4.

I really don't have a favorite yet. Nobody is standing out to me ... in a good way that is, there are certainly a few who need to go. Lol! Loving Chris though :). Any standouts for you?

Re: Derek -- I'd be interested in seeing where that could go. If not her, definitely someone. He so deserves a HEA! Maybe we'll get a Derek book like we did an Andrea and Raphael book. Although right now they've said they're only focused on Kate and Curran. I guess people have been asking for a Jim novel. Which I would definitely not be opposed to either!

No standouts for me either, and same, that's a good thing so far. I can't even remember names right now anyway, lol.

Ooh, a Jim novel? I'd like that too. I'd be okay with Jim getting a a book like Andrea and Raphael. But Derek deserves a trilogy at least ;) Kidding, I'll take whatever scraps they're willing to throw me.

Monica | 860 comments I finished In Seconds by Brenda Novak. I really enjoyed it. The romance wasn't super strong, but that's to be expected with the history of the two characters. And is it wrong I was rooting for the ex-con with a drug problem anyway? Luckily, I've got his story coming up soon in Whiskey Creek.

I think I'm going to start Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven. I've heard good things, and a bunch of authors I follow have raved about it.

Haha! Me too though.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) I'm reading a few series.

The Joe Dillard series is the best, book #5- Conflict of Interest by Scott Pratt. Joe Dillard is an attorney who had taken the case of child kidnapping which is not something he is used to.

The Jack O'Neill series is surprisingly good also. Book #1- Redemption Song by Derick Parsons. Jack is an alcoholic cop in Dublin just going through the motions trying to get to full retirement when he is given a case to solve. Someone is killing black men in Dublin and he and a rookie are assigned to find the serial murderer.

And then there is the Willow Creek series. This a romance series centering around the Avery brothers in 1800's Montana. Lots of steamy fun. I am on book #3 The Gambler . I am enjoying this series a lot too.

Oh, gimme, gimme a full length Jim and Dali novel!

Not overly dramatic, no :0)

I wouldn't die for a trilogy but I might kill, lol!

Finished Mate Claimed (Shifters Unbound, #4) by Jennifer Ashley today and really enjoyed it. Eric and Ione have some of the most intense chemistry I've ever encountered. I wasn't that impressed with the last book and was considering calling it quits on the series if Eric and Ione's story didn't resonate but now I'm eager to continue because this book introduced some very intriguing characters.

Monica | 860 comments I finished Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven and it was okay. I think I'm starting to tire of the same old, same old NA story. Alpha male/douche and the spineless yet strong, beautiful woman. I feel like it dragged in a few places and became redundant. So, 3 stars. I don't know if I'll continue with this series, it could have honestly been one book.

Now I'm reading Between the Sheets (book 3 Boys of Bishop) by Molly O'Keefe and I'm loving it. I had to pick an author I knew wouldn't let me down for my next read. Although the cover makes me simultaneously giggle and cringe.
