Thanks for the book recommendation, Nile! I'm adding it to my TBR list now.
Yes, Naguib Mahfouz's style really impressed me. I've only read the one book, Midaq Alley, but I hope to read more of his writing in the near future when I have more free time. :)

Here's a re-welcome to our former Shelfari member! It's wonderful to have you here! I would say that our Goodreads group is the second most active version of Cafe Libri.
I'll be adding you shortly, and just jump into the conversations whenever you are compelled. I try to cost-post the responses from the various versions of Cafe Libri. That way, we are all connected no matter which version we are a member of!
*hugs* Happy reading!

I'm Gemma and presently live in Romania. I mostly write poetry but also try different things too.
I love reading all kind of books but I can't read what most people do; like The Hunger Games, etc, cause here these books are very expensive. So if any of you can help me with some of the books to find them online I'll be glad to join the discussions.

Just wanted to say welcome to the group, Gemma! Do you try the ebook versions of these big names?

Welcome to the the Goodreads version of Cafe Libri, Amanda. I've read some of your posts on Yahoo. I don't know why Goodreads makes the discussion threads a little difficult to find. I'm happy that I can at least place the conversations in folders. I wish Shelfari and Yahoo had that option...but then maybe the conversations would be difficult to find, lol!
