It's so much fun - I didn't join the last challenge until late August (I think) and I managed to do pretty well so far. I can't wait for the next one!

It seems kind of unfair to say they can't. I can see where you're coming from Courtney with that question but I'm sure it won't be the same every time.

Jen - what do you think?

Congratulations on finishing the last one - I am lagging a little behind you but I am trying to keep trucking and starting to flag a little... I think having a list ready for this one will help, the last I kind of did on the fly and spent so much time trying to figure out if what I wanted to read would fit a category!

Yeah, so I tried to do it but my book titles must be too long or something. It kept telling me I had too many characters so I tried deleting a bunch of extra stuff out of my list and it still didn't work. And that was even without two books because I couldn't find them! I may have to wait until I finish reading some and then put them up there.

I just did add book/author and inserted all of the covers into my post that way without spaces between them, but I think there's another way you can do it. If you create a shelf that's specific to this challenge and put all your books on it, you can go to My Account and click on the tab labeled Widgets. About the 2nd or 3rd option down is a book montage from a specific shelf. If you make a montage of your challenge shelf, it will give you all the code to insert into your post. Might work better that way -- I don't know that it would necessarily make it any fewer characters, but it might be worth a try.

Jen B (jennybee618) No points for me, but I just finished my first book of the challenge as part of task 15.2: Confections of a Closet Master Baker by Gesine Bullock-Prado. The full subtitle includes the word Sweet. I absolutely LOVED this book. It's well-written, funny, touching, and best of all there are yummy recipes at the end of each chapter. If you're at all interested in baking, I'd definitely recommend this one!

Suzanne | 767 comments For this one

8. Ghouls, Turkeys, and Sleighs (Alicia’s Task) - Read a book that has any holiday from Halloween through New Years in it. Examples: Scenes From a Holiday (Various), Thanksgiving (Janet Evanovich), An Idiot Girl’s Christmas (Laurie Notaro)

Just how much of the book needs to take place during the holiday? The book I just read had Christmas in it and the family celebrated, but it wasn't what the book was about. Does that count?

Suzanne, I think that's fine -- the task is a little vague, so it doesn't really specify that the book has to be centered around the holiday. I'm not a big fan of holiday-themed books, so the one I plan to read only has the holiday in a small part of it.

Stacy, your thoughts?

Melanie, I think you'll really like it! I got my copy from the library, but I think it's one I'll buy when it comes out in paperback. Not only would I read it again, but the recipes included would make it worth the purchase. :)

That's fine with me, I'm not a huge fan of holiday themed books either. As long as the holiday is somewhere in the book - that works! :)
