Post #2The main conflict is based on a very toxic school. In this book, a class is doing an "experiment" but it is taken way out of hand. It all started with this "club" called The Wave. But, it eventually was taken so far to where people are bullied into it. If you are not in The Wave you have to wear a band on your wrist. If you don't go to the meetings you are called out. This leads people to hiding if they aren't a member. It is breaking friendships, relationships, etc. It is toxic. You have to believe in what all the others believe in. The Wave was meant to get rid of popularity competition. But it really just caused chaos.
Do you think you would join The Wave? Would you be scared if you didn't?

In this book, the characters are Ben Ross (the teacher) and Laurie Saunders (editor of the school paper). Laurie is a creative, driven and always appointed to do the right thing. She realizes that 'the wave' is ruining her friendships. But, she is determined to fix this situation that is involving the entire school.
Do you think Laurie can make a change?
