LOL, Taryn! That doesn't bother me so much, but Ch. 25 when (view spoiler)[ Raymond heals her by grabbing her nipples and touching her uterus...that was so strange to me. Did anyone else think so? (hide spoiler)]

And also in Part 4 when Claire (view spoiler)[ agrees to sleep with the king to free Jamie...that also bothered me a lot. I also wish we were done reliving Jamie's rape...I am really over that experience!! (hide spoiler)]

Part 5- (view spoiler)[It's nice to be back at Lallybroch and this was a good break for me from France as I really like Jenny and Ian. I love the image of strong Jamie holding his niece so Jenny can rest, so sweet!

Of course, I expected that somehow Charles would start the battle for his crown. It must be so difficult for Jamie to send all of those men to their death. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't take part in this discussion but I read Dragonfly In Amber earlier in 2014. I'm hoping to read Voyager at some point this year, so perhaps a Buddy Read would give me a kick up the backside to pick it up sooner rather than later.

I finished! I think Part 6 and 7 were my favorites of the book. (view spoiler)[I liked that they had more action and that we finally got some answers!

The Alex and Mary romance was very sad. At least Alex had the reassurance that his brother would care for Mary but he seemed to have suffered so much at the end.

I enjoyed reading more about Geillis Duncan and where she came from although it did seem a little rushed.

And the cliffhanger does leave me wanting more...I need to find out what happened with Jamie. I'm assuming Claire goes back to him through the stones again.

Overall, I liked this book quite a bit. It's probably more like 3.5 stars for me. There were parts that dragged along and I don't know if the book had to be quite so long. (hide spoiler)]

I agree. The last parts of the book were definitely the most interesting. It was the only time I felt like things really actually happened.

I still enjoyed the part in France but I don't think it had to be quite so drawn out.

I will read the 3rd book but probably not until March. February is too full already.
