In World War ll being a normal citizen was bad enough, but having to be an spy not only put a lot of pressure on Michael but on his parents as well. When Michael goes to school in Hitler youth the initial goal is to go and learn valuable information that could help the Allies. But things start to change when he meets a boy named Fritz. At first he only becomes his friend to learn secret information that his father may have, but that soon starts to change as they grow a closer relationship. Eventually it all starts to take a different path.
Michael finds a wounded english soldier and gets help from his parents to come and help save the soldier whose name is Simon. But as time goes on it becomes riskier and risker for them to keep Simon in there house and as relationships between Michael and his friend Fritz start to change Michael is left with a desperate conflict of having to try to find a way to get himself in the top secret mission and go undercover to help save a famous scientist from being assassinated, but as Fritz and others start to suspect him the challenge gets harder and harder. Towards the end the book Michael and his friends relationship turns deadly in which Micahel is not only fighting for his life but the lives of millions of people around the world.

Do you think that it is worth the risk for Michael and his parents to be spies in Germany for the Irish Embassy and as it gets harder and harder for them to keep their secret do you think that they should abandon their mission or be all in for whatever may happen?
