I've forgotten the book. I read it around 5 years ago. The author's surname starts with G-L based on where it was at the library.
It is about a man (possibly an earl, duke) who finds a 'lost' girl/young woman near a port/wharf (I think). He takes her home to tend to her and make sure she heals. They naturally fall in love. I can remember the hero leaving roses on the heroines bed.
I also think one of the main characters was called Devin/Devon/Deven?
