I read this book in approx 2015. Its set in London. The main protagonist is a cynical, middle aged radio music host (or music producer?) of a show thats not as successful as it used to be. He is not from London (hes from up north or scotland) and has a long term on and off girlfriend. He lives on a barge/boat. He somehow gets embroiled in a murder. There is a scene in a cab, (not a black london cab, but rather, a cab from a hole in the wall type cabbie office) and also a scene in a parking lot. At one point, he is attacked on the barge. He also goes to a party in a very wealthy household in London. If I recall, the book starts with him either going to a funeral or a party or some sort of particular event. There's also a scene in a hotel in London, and someone is being followed or watched. The wife of someone perhaps?
