Ashlee What could be better than Summer in Australia? Beaches, BBQs, cricket, Christmas, and of course - lots of time to read!

If you'd like some literary inspiration this Summer, why not try our Summer reading challenge. Begin December 1 and finish by February 28.

The rules are simple - read a book that fits each category. They do not need to be read on the specific date mentioned, any time throughout the season will do. Only where specified do the books need to be by an Australian author.

If you're having trouble coming up with ideas, you'll find plenty of inspiration on Listopia.

1. Read an Aussie book released between December 1 and February 28.

2. Read a book with the title beginning with one of the letters of SUMMER.

3. Read a book with water or the beach on the cover

5. January 26 is Australia Day – read a historical fiction book by an Australian author

6. The International AACTA Awards are held in January – read a book that has been turned into a movie
