A boy in Egypt named Yusuf and he lives with the pharaoh and family. I think it’s sorta biblical as well, not a lot of mythology. Only parts I can remember is that there was a party and people were wearing perfumed wax cones on their wigs. I read this book about 10 years ago and I believe it is historical fiction, possibly young adult. Thank you for any help.

Are you sure the setting was Ancient Egypt?I think Yusuf is more of an Arabic name.
It was something close to that, I know it was a different way to spell joseph.
When you say the story was sort of biblical, do you mean it had a Christian religious message?
Well not really, like the character male character seemed to be Joseph from the Bible but it mainly focused on his life in Egypt and in the palace
