Cássia Sousa | 111 comments Goal: 25 Progress: 23/25

1. Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi
2. Thicker Than Water, Oyinkan Braithwaite
3. O canto da Sereia: um noir baiano, Nelson Motta
4. Dicionário da Escravidão e da Liberdade, Lilia Schwarcz
5. La Vérité sur l'affaire Harry Quebert, Joël Dicker
6. Bird Box, Josh Malerman One of the worst things I've ever read.
7. Filhos da degradação, Felipe Castilho
8. The King in Yellow, Robert W. Chambers
9. Sharp Objects, Gillian Flynn
10. The Chalk Man, C. J. Tudor
11. It, Stephen King Sadness in so many pages
12. Carmilla, Sheridan Le Fanu Beautiful in a dangerous way. Not that I had read too much books about vampires, but this and Polidori's are my favorites now.
13. Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel, Eoin Colfer I didn't read the original books. At first sight, the graphic novel is regular. The characters are interesting BUT Artemis Fowl, a really annoying kiddo. What I really liked here was Holly Short, a very charming girl elf. The narrative is not very captivating with Artemis and his world both presented in an ontological way.
14. The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood
15. A vida invisível de Eurídice Gusmão, Martha Batalha
16. The War of the Worlds, H. G. Wells
17. O capeta-caolho contra a besta-fera, Everaldo Rodrigues
18. The Wife Between Us, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen I didn't like so much. Actually, I think the narrative has so much twists, some of them completely unecessary. Besides, you already saw the situations and the characters here in other thrillers what make The wife between us very predictable.
19. We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Shirley Jackson
20. The Haunting οf Hill House, Shirley Jackson
21. The Gathering, Anne Enright
22. A Clockwork Orange, Anthony Burgess
23. The Foundation Trilogy, Isaac Asimov I loved it. It works as a science fiction book, but also as a thriller. Many books that I read recently follows Foundation's steps. That makes it a great work in fiction.
24. The Amityville Horror, Jay Anson
25. Мы, Yevgeny Zamyatin

Thank you. :)

But I don't think it's so eclectic. Most part of the books are horror's or thriller's that is in my shelf for years. And others I bought last december and I'm very anxious to read.

Do you want to read in portuguese or brazilian portuguese? Or both? haha

Is that your cat in the picture?

I only know Portuguese :) Apart from that I have the goal to read in some of the other languages I know, but I always end up reading in English since it's more readily available, plus it's much faster for me :)
And yes it is. He died a few years ago but I just haven't changed the picture.... Way to kill the conversation, Lisa lol
uhm, the kitten in your picture is really cute too though :)

Sorry. I didn't meant to be rude and/or arrogant. I asked because in modern literature (and modern social life), the difference between the two variations of portuguese are very notable. I have problems to understand some variations of portuguese. If you want, I could recommend something from Brazil. :)

I'm sorry about your cat. =/ (in my photo is my cat when she was a baby cat)

No need to apologize - You had no way of knowing ;) I lived in Mozambique when I was younger so we had to learn Portuguese. And eventhough I'm born in Venezuela, I've never been to Brazil so there's that :D
I would love that! One of my personal challenges is to read books from around the world, so I'm always open to recommendations :)
