David Freeman (mushroomtales) | 34 comments Welcome to the new Home Base for the Authors Pay It Forward Project. This is the logical stepping stone to meet all of our promotional goals as Authors and a literally unlimited selection of books for Readers.

I am beginning the invitation process to share this venue with our current and future friends and supporters. With an estimated 30 Million readers on this site, looking for an endless stream of reading materials, we are in the right place.

Please open a profile for Goodreads, then follow the instructions to open an Author's profile. We will be in touch to support your new books on a phenomenal scale. The adventure continues.

How can I advertise my e-book here? I would love some feedback (good, bad, or indifferent).

Thank

David Freeman (mushroomtales) | 34 comments Hi Becky. I am working to provide a simple "How To" procedure for our members, but in the mean time, I will defer to the Director of Author Marketing for Amazon's Goodreads.

http://youtu.be/PXZ1JHQjPLM

The short version is:
1. Join Goodreads by starting a Reader Profile.
2. Expand that by opening an Author's Profile (Goodreads will merge the two).
3. Once your are set up, you can begin by creating book shelves of your favorite books, both yours and possibly those of say, friends in your circle of connections.
4. Those books can be marked as Read, Currently Reading, Want to Read, Recommended, Reviewed, etc.
5. Rather than do an incomplete job of explaining the process, please view the video above.
6. As more members learn and share about the Goodreads process, we will fine tune a guide to "Best Practices" (an ongoing learning process). The features on this site seem limitless and ever improving. When you make a new Goodreads observation, discovery or have a question, please share it with our group.

Dave

David Freeman (mushroomtales) | 34 comments Gabi, I am finding all kinds of promo potential available on Goodreads. I'd certainly like to hear from other members who have previous experience or challenges. I think we can help promote our favorite Authors by using all of the options to note what we are "Currently Reading", "Want to Read", "Have Read", "Rate" and "Review".

We need to remember to post our regular reviews on Amazon.com and then repeat the process on Goodreads. (Correct me if I get any of the procedures mixed up...Lots to learn).

Gabi Plumm (gabiplumm) | 2 comments Oh yes, I know what you mean, I am going insane not knowing what to concentrate on first. I think I have decided it is a very long job!
I am complicating matters as well by beginning a campaign for a romantic comedy Trilogy. Will I ever learn?

Hi Susan. Excellent. I can feel us getting smarter by the minute. Be sure to share your discoveries and challenges. We can all learn by sharing info.

(For example, you said you flagged this note. I've been afraid to click the flag, thinking it was a Spam Flagger or similar. It made me just as nervous as the "Leave this group" button. I have dreams of scrolling on hyper-drive and accidentally wiping out my connection to our little expanding universe. N-O-O-O-O!). :/

Additional unanswered questions:
1. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, was there really a sound?

2. If a group Admin deletes him or herself, does the group disappear into cyber-space. If not, who would let the missing Admin back in?
