Gee, I just read the book, but I cannot recall whether we got to the bottom of the Sid Cotton question.
I'm not clear on who hired Cotton either. He said it wasn't Ashworth but he could be lying about that. He could've simply decided not to go through with it after Ashworth cheated him out of payment for another job BUT that wouldn't explain why he's still following Sebastian around in this book.
Is it to far a stretch to think Victoria might've hired him? Perhaps wanting to get rid of the family member who has a penchant for sticking his nose into suspicious deaths? lol
Oh, I wouldn’t put anything past Victoria but she has to have an angle. Not saying she doesn’t have one but I don’t know what it could be at this moment.
The fortune teller said Ashworth hired Cotton. Victoria is a good choice, but I think Jarvis is in the mix too. I don't think Jarvis wants Sebastian dead...Yet. Though he isn't upset when someone tries to kill Sebastian unsuccessfully. It is a way to let Sebastian know that it is only a matter of time.
I think Amanda might be another good choice. She is so full of hate for her brother.
