Anetq | 86 comments Knocked Don Quijote off the dusty shelf as well (and may gain 6 cm of shelf by getting rid of it too... (I usually give them away after raving about their wonderfulness, but that's not going to work for this one)

How's everyone going on this with just a few months to go?

message 103: by [deleted user] (new)

I still have a 18 to read to reach my target

I am sure I am not going to get to my target of 100. May lower it to 70. Have managed 53 so far though.

message 105: by Sooz888 (new)

Sooz888 I got totally overtaken by brilliant library books this year, so I am hoping for some kind of revised dusty books challenge after this one ends. Please nicely :)

message 106: by Sam (new)

Sam (aramsamsam) I have 18 books to go. Moving to a new city and my new job (plus the brilliant library here!) got me distracted...

I still hope I can reach my goal of 60. My tbr deserves the attention.

I am tempted to extend the challenge

message 108: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 359 comments I'd love it to be extended too. So far I've read 17/25 but would like to clear the pile a lot more (maybe then I could actually see the dusty shelf!)

message 109: by [deleted user] (new)

I set my challenge at 120. I'm still hoping to make it but I've been using a lot of dusty books for other challenges too

Have extended it until the end of August at the moment

message 111: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments How wonderful. If I finish the Iliad I shall be happy. Just started it!

message 112: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 34 comments Ooh, an extension, thank you! Reading frantically before the bump becomes baby - not sure how much time I'll have for the joy of reading after that!!

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
You're welcome. And congratulations on the imminent arrival of the baby

message 114: by Sam (new)

Sam (aramsamsam) I just realized I met my challenge goal yesterday without noticing ;)
This challenge has helped me immensely reducing my tbr, thanks for hosting, Paul!

In the meantime, I've (naturally) acquired a load of new books, so a second edition of the dusty shelf would be highly appreciated. Maybe next year?

Well done Sam! I have a few more to go, but should get to them over the summer.

Probably not next year, but will bear it in mind for another year

I have a single book to go to reach my revised target of 70. Almost there!

message 117: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 359 comments Great work Paul! I also have 1 book to go but for a measly 25 :) I've decided it would be appropriate to finish with Howards End

Wow fantastic. Well done.

message 119: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments I've started my own one. Only a year late....Prob take a few years to finish it

message 120: by Gisela (new)

Gisela Hafezparast | 242 comments Sadly, recently I have had very little time to read and/or went for the easy option once again. So my dusty shelf is growing again.

Oh dear. Hope everything is ok Gisela

Thanks Paul. 2016 is never going to be one of my favourite years to look back on, but heyho, onwards we go. A good book goes a long way!
