Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Hey, SR, sorry there are so many members now, I can't keep track anymore, but welcome back :)

GR doesn't have a chat app that I know of. Do you mean like, a live chat room, or a text to voice software for reading?

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Oh, no, no live chat here. Text forum only. The main advantage being it can be saved in a topic. In a live chat, anything could be said and it's not saved, so no way to double-check info.

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Oh! This is about notifications. Gotcha. There are ways around that.

Use an up to date active email. I find gmail is the best for security. Have your GR settings set to email notifications. Set it up on your phone to get email alerts.

I hope that helps!

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Hehe :D

You know, part of it is the fact that not everyone posts right away. I've seen topics just sit there for days on end before someone comments. So, even if there was an easier way to get notifications right this second, I suspect you would end up with even less, because if GR was real-time, it would seem very slow.

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Just in case, there is a mobile version of GR, that as I understand it, functions a bit faster or better than trying to view the desktop version on a mobile device. Very bottom of the page, far right side > Switch to Mobile.

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Okay, just thought it might help. That's too bad.

I'm sure GR has its limits. I can't imagine the coding required to convert an online text forum to a mobile website. The only way I can see is to completely redesign the entire webisite and that could possibly erase a lot of books. They do offer API, but have to be a developper for that.
