"I didn't think boys read this book." Alexis said, leaning her head against her dad's shoulder.
"Oh! I remember!" Melody exclaimed happily.Alexis smiled. "I don't like being the youngest."
She made a face as he ruffled her hair. "What does that mean? Won't I always be the youngest?" Alexis said.
"Yeah, aren't you like fifty now?" Melody teased, giggling.
((Kaya is 37 so I think he's be 40...since they had the twins when they were 20-ish.))"Yuck!" Melody laughed.
"Have what?" Alexis asked.
((I have a good memory so if ever forget just ask lol))Alexis groaned. "See!"
"Melody Walker?" The receptionist called.Melody stood up. "Dad?" She held out her arm.
"Right this way Mr and Miss Walker." The eye doctor smiled. "I'm Doctor Wright." He said, leading them into his office.
"Help Melody see normally, hopefully. I just need to ask a few questions then test out some lenses." He said.Melody sat on the examination chair.
"How long since has it been since the accident?" He asked."Almost a year." Melody replied.
"And what can you see as of now?" He asked.Melody looked around the room. "Shapes. Some colour. Bright colours, usually." She murmured.
"And what about light?" She nodded. "I can if its light or dark." She replied.
The doctor nodded. "Very good." He wrote some stuff down.
"I have a few lenses that I'm going to test on you. You let me know if you can see and how well you can see." He sat Melody back in the chair and rummaged through his devices.Melody fidgeted with her hands.
Alexis slipped into the room. "Sorry, had to pee."The doctor smiled. "And who must you be? A miniature Melody?"
"Aahh, I could of guessed that. How many others do you have?" He asked as he placed some lenses over Melody's eyes.
"A twin! Ha." He chuckled. "How's that Melody?" Melody blinked and looked around. "Nothing new."
The corner of his mouth twitched. "Ah, how lovely." He murmured.
"How is it now?" He observed.Melody looked around. "It's better. But not perfect."
Twenty minutes past with no luck. Dr. Wright only had one pair of lenses left. "Last pair..."Melody looked exhausted and on the verge of crying.
She squeezed her dads hand. "I hope so," she sighed.
"May I?" The doctor addressed Melody. Timidly, she noddedz
He placed the glasses on her face gently and stepped back. Melody sat up and blinked, looking around the room.
She didn't say anything as she stood up and scanned her eyes up her fathers figure. Tears were sparkling in her eyes. "Daddy?"
She ran to her dad and hugged him right around the waist. "Yes!!!"
She cried happily into his chest and squeezed him tight.Dr.Wright smiled. "That's the pair then." He wrote it down.
Melody stood back and held her arms out as Alexis ran into her arms. Melody grunted as she lifted her baby sister into the air.
He smiled and shook his hand. It was my pleasure really." He said. "Now for the fun part: picking out what frames you want." He smiled at Melody.
Melody followed, holding Alexis's hands. "Oh! I like these." She picked up black rectangular frames, sort of like a hipster style. Dr. Wright sat back and watched, watching Melody closely.
"These mahogany ones are nice." She picked up a pair that was like the first, but a different colour.The doctor fidgeted in his seat.
He cleared his throat and looked away.
"I want these black ones." Melody decided. "Perfect! I'll have them ready for by the end of the week." He said, but didn't stand up.
"Yeah." He smiled and crossed his legs. Melody handed the frames to him.
"Thank you so much Dr. Wright." Melody smiled and took off the lenses and handed them to him."You're very welcome, Melody." He said softly.
He nodded and followed them to the door, watching them leave. He clearly had a boner.Melody held on her sisters arm tightly as she guided her out.
Melody buckled up. "What do you mean?" She looked confused.
"What? Really?" She frowned and crossed her arms over her small chest.
"Eww!" She covered her ears. "Why didn't you say anything to him?"
"Well what would you say?" She murmured quietly.
"That's my dad." She smiled and kissed his shoulder.
She frowned. "But I really couldn't see clearly out of all the ones he asked me to try on." She said honestly. "Unless he knew what lenses would be perfect from the start."
"I'm not much to stare at though," she shrugged. She was wearing black leggings and a baggy t shirt with boots.
"Right." She nodded. "Oh have to pick up David." She told him.
"And you're okay with him staying the night?" She asked.
She scoffed. "Who says that? Maybe we've already done it."
She closed her eyes and groaned. "God, do you know everything?"
She made a face. "Please tell me she still doesn't use those." She begged.
"I don't want to hear this!!!" She covered her ears.
