"She's being held in the ICU. You can't all go in there at once. One at a time." The nurse told them calmly.

She nodded and followed the nurse to Melody's room.Caroline sat on the floor against the wall. "This is all my fault."
"I shouldn't have fought with her. If I didn't then she would have been able to focus on the road." She started to cry.
"What I was in the car though dad?" She looked at him.
She nodded and drew her knees to her chest."Jason!" Kaya ran down the hall.
"She's awake. But something is wrong!" She took his hand.
Melody was sobbing in her hospital bed, hooked up to a million different machines. "I can't see!!!" She cried.
A doctor came running in. "What is if?"
He furrowed his brows and flashed light into her eyes. "What do you see Melody?""Darkness. I see darkness." She sniffed.
Kaya buried her face into his shoulder.The doctor sighed and looked at her parents. "I'm afraid her head injury has malfunctioned her eye sight."
"We can't tell if it's permanent just yet." He assured them.
"He's good. Just a mild concussion and a broken collar bone. Would you like to see him?" The doctor asked them.
He nodded. Of course. But I ask you only one person at a time in here."
"You can stay." She rubbed his shoulder. "I'm going to talk to Caroline."
Melody looked blankly up at the ceiling and was breathing heavily.
"What happened?" Melody whispered and looked in his direction.
"My head hurts." She winced and closed her eyes.
She shakily raised her hand. "Where are you?" She whispered.
((Melody))She cried more and squeezed his hand tightly. "It's so dark daddy."
She just nodded and closed her eyes, crying silently.
"How is she?" Kaya asked, hugging herself.
"She's blind, David." Kaya murmured.
"For what?" Kaya stood beside his bed.
"David, you were stopped at a red light. It wasn't your fault honey." She touched his hand.
"You can't blame yourself. It was an accident. We're just happy you're both alive." She smiled sadly.
"We can live around that." Kaya nodded at Jason. "We're not sure if it's permanent or not anyways."
((Do you want to skip? I was thinking melody could not want to talk to david anymore because she feels humiliated that she's blind and can't see him, but he goes to her house everyday to request to see her?))
((Probably but not for a while))Two weeks later, Melody was taking a lead of absence from school. It was in the middle of the day and her siblings were at school. Melody was sitting on her window seat in her own large room that faced the back of the house. She rested her forehead against the cool glass. David called her numerous amount of times, but she never picked up.
Kaya opened the door. "Hello David." She smiled sadly.
Kaya hesitated and looked at Jason who was walking down the hallway.
"She requested us not to let you up." Kaya sighed and looked upstairs. "But I think it'd be good for both of you if you go see her. Second door on the left." She told him in a soft voice.
"I already ate." Melody murmured, thinking that he was her dad.
Melody stiffened and looked in his direction. "Who let you in? I don't want to talk to you." She muttered.
"I don't care who's fault it was, David." She said softly.
"Does it look like I'm okay?" She turned her face away from him so he wouldn't see the tears gathering in her eyes. She had a brace around her wrist and bandages wrapped around her ribs under her black tank top.
"That's the thing David. I cant't see you! I can't see the guy I have crush in. I don't even know if I ever will!" She stood up and shouted, without thinking about what she said.
She made a sound of surprise and jumped a little since she didn't see the movement. All she felt was the open air around her then his lips suddenly on hers. She scrunched her eyes closed and kissed him back, placing a hand on his chest.
When he pulled back she sucked in a breath and touched the side of his face with her hands, breathing hard. "W-why?" She asked, confused.
"But I can't see." She whispered. A few tears slid down her smooth cheeks.
She smiled through her tears and reached up and felt his face delicately with her soft fingers. "I love you to." She whispered.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back softly and slowly.
She moaned softly against his lips and ran her hands down his chest, gripping his thin shirt.
She winced and broke the kiss since his hand trailed over the stitches in the back of her head.
