She poked her head out from the hallway. "Babe, I'm very pregnant. I would rather not poop on you." She looked over at him the back at the pictures. "It's too nice." She sighed. "They make it look like a vacation."
He chuckled and nodded. "I'm glad I'm not into that.""I just hope it helps." He said. "You deserve something good and nice.
"Me too," she smirked and left to go use the bathroom."What I have here is nice and good." She sighed.
He looked back at Finn. "You doing okay?""Then it shall be okay." He smiled.
Finn was finishing off his bottle. He looked at him with his big blue eyes.She sighed and closed her laptop. "I have to start dinner."
He took the bottle once Finn was done. He got up and grabbed a towel then held Finn and burped him."Do you want help?" He asked getting up.
Finn spat up after he burped."Sure." She stood up.
"Good job buddy." He set Finn down and cleaned up his spit up.He walked to the kitchen with her. "What's for dinner?"
Finn smiled and pulled off one of his socks. Melody came back, now wearing her glasses.
"Spaghetti and meatballs and some garlic toast." She said. She tied her hair up into a messy bun.
"Daaaaadd." Abby called as she came downstairs.
He smiled and brought Finn to the kitchen. "It's always good." He walked to the doorway. "Aaaaabbyyyyyyyyy."
Melody followed. "I really want pickles." She said."I need help." She brought her homework into the kitchen.
David grabbed the pickles from the fridge. There's only seven left." He told her.Peter nodded. "What homework?"
She nodded. "Do we have peanut butter?" "Math." She opened her binder and textbook.
"Ew, fifth grade math." Caroline smirked.
He sighed and grabbed the half empty peanut butter jar. "Would you like vanilla pudding as well?""I'll make dinner if you want to help her." He said to Caroline.
She gave him a look. "Don't make fun of my cravings,"Finn watched them.
"Oh no. I hate math." She prepared dinner, filling a big pot with water.
"Yes but do you?" He asked as he handed her the pickles and peanut butter."I wish I his the garlic bread." He sat down at the counter with Abby.
"No thanks." She took the peanut butter and pickles to the table. "Pardon?" She looked over at them.
He sat at the table with her and Finn."I said I wish I hid the garlic bread." He said as he looked over the homework.
She dipped a pickle into the peanut butter and took a bite."Why?" She asked.
"Good?" He asked her. He watched her eat with a twinge of curiosity and grossness. "So only I would know where they were and would have to make dinner while you help Abby." He told her.
"Try it." She said as she chewed, holding her pickle out to him."No, we just wouldn't have garlic bread with dinner." She smiled smugly.
"You're better at math anyways dad." Abby said.
He shook his head. "I'd rather not.""this ain't math. This is nonsense with numbers and letters." He chuckled.
"Okay." She shrugged and took another bite."Well I can't do all that." She said.
"Should I pick up more pickles and peanut butter?" He asked her."I guess we'll try." He told Abby."
"No it's okay." She said. Finn reached for a pickle.Abby nodded and got her calculator.
David set Finn on the table.He read over the first question.
"Should he try a bite?" She asked.She tried it and got it wrong.
"If you want him to." He helped Finn move closer."Find the part where it went wrong and go from there." He told her.
She dipped the pickle into peanut butter again and held it out to him.,' he took a bite."But I don't know where I went wrong." She said
He watched Finn for his reaction."Well then redo it but go slower she double check you're work. It's better to be right than fist. If you're both than that's just an added bonus." He told her.
Finn chewed it, then began to cry, spitting it out. Abby nodded and erased what she did and tried again. The answer was right this time.
Caroline put the meatballs in the oven and boiled the noodles.
David grabbed a napkin and wiped Finns mouth. "I guess he didn't like it."He nodded. "There you go. Now how about the next one?"
Finn wailed, huddling against David. Melody laughed, taking another bite. "Poor boy."
She nodded and did the next one, getting it right.
He held Finn and comforted him. "It's okay. You want some water?" He got up and grabbed a bottle with water in it."See, you got this. Think you can do it while you're mom and I mane dinner?" He asked her.
Finn nodded, calming down some."I can try." She nodded.
He gave Finn the bottle.He got up and walked over to Caroline.
Finn took it and drank from it.Melody finished another pickle then put the lids on everything. She took them to the fridge and washed her hands.
Caroline looked over at him as she mixed the sauce in a pan, adding some veggies.
He watched Finn drink the bottle."Need any help?" He asked her.
((Two days until Melody's actual due date))Finn put the bottle down when he was done.
Melody rubbed at her eyes under her glasses.
"I'm okay." She smiled over at him. "Abby, what's Noah doing upstairs?"
"He's playing Minecraft." Abby said.
He took the bottle. "You should go to bed now. I'll take care of Finn."He nodded and looked at Abby. "Is he done with his homework?"
"I'm not tired." She said softly. Finn wiggled in David's arms, wanting to go on the ground. "I don't think so." She said.
David set Finn on the ground. "You don't have to be tired to sleep.""I'll go tell him to do it." Peter walked up to Noah's room.
"My eyes are just bothering me today." She admitted.Finn went over to the one cabinet that wasn't locked, which was where the plastic Tupperware was.
Caroline nodded and focused on dinner.
"Do you need a new prescription?" He asked as he watched Finn.He knocked and walked in Noah's room. "Hey. Have you done you're homework yet?"
"No but I'll do it when I'm done with this?" Noah said without looking away from the screen.
"Maybe." She sighed. Finn sat on the floor and played with the plastic containers.
Caroline helped Abby with a math problem while dinner cooked.
"We should see if we can make an appointment." He shrugged."What about now? You know you should do chores and homework before video games and TV." Peter walked over so Noah could see him.
"Okay just let me finish this." Noah said, still not paying attention.
"Yeah I'll call them tomorrow." She said. She rubbed her belly, sighing. "Ah!" Finn through a container.
Caroline went back to cooking once Abby was confident to finish her homework on her own.
He walked over to her and kissed her forehead. "You should relax though.""How much longer?" Peter asked.
"About six minutes," Noah told him.
Peter nodded. "Okay. Finish and then homework."
"I thought that's what I was doing." She said, touching his arm. "Abby, can you set the table for me? I have to get the twins." Caroline said.
Abby nodded, closing up her textbook and notebook. She grabbed the plates from the cupboard.
After school, Alexis had dance practice. She rode with a friend to the studio and changed into leggings and a sip top and tied her hair into a messy bun. She practiced for a few hours. They had a competition that weekend.
He sat next to her. "It looks like a nice place."
