She waved her hand. "Nonscense, I'm fine." She assured. "One more time then we can go back to the hotel."
He sighed. "Okay. But I really think you should at least have some water." He walked over to the side.
She nodded and followed, rubbing her belly for a moment. She was six months pregnant. "After tomorrow we can head back home and relax." She promised.
He grabbed her a water bottle and gave it her her. "I underestimated the stress of the tour."
She took the bottle and took three big gulps from it. "We postponed the rest of my tour babe. This is all just promotion and interviews and things." She clarified. She gave Finn one last kiss. "One more time and we'll get some dinner." She pecked David's lips.
He nodded kissed her back before going to sit in one of the seats to watch. He set Finn down in the chair next to him.
She took the water bottle on the stage with her and took one last sip before placing it at her feet. She motioned for her band to start playing again, and she started to sing. Towards the middle of the song, she looked..different. She lost her spark that she has while performing, and her voice slowed down, like she couldn't keep up. She then suddenly stopped, gripping the microphone stand. The band stopped and Melody wobbled, losing her balance.
David had noticed and stood up. He ran over to her and caught her before she could fall completely. "Melody are you okay?"
Melody whimpered and held her belly, nodding. "I...I'm fine." She whispered, then fainted. "Someone call 911!" Their on-hand babysitter said while picking up Finn.
"No you're not." He held her as band member called. Another brought out a pillow she they found rest her on the ground.
Melody was out for only a minute. She slowly came too with her eyes still closed. "Mm." She whimpered, holding her belly.
David held her hand as one of the shows doctors checked her out. "Are you okay Melody?" David asked her.
"Y-yeah." She managed to say while trying to catch her breath. "Her heart rate is soaring." The doctor said. "And the baby is distressed. I want her to be taken to the hospital for further inspection to make sure she and the baby are okay."
David nodded. "Okay" The ambulance arrived and the EMTs rushed in and out her on a stretcher. They gave her an oxygen mask to help her breathing.
"I'll worry about Finn." Cara, the babysitter said."David...don't leave me." Melody said quietly behind the mask. She groped around for his hand.
"M'am we need you to stay still okay? Just relax." An EMT said.
David nodded and held onto Melody's hand. "You can go back to the hotel." He told Cara. The EMTs wheeled her to the ambulance. They got her all set and headed to the hospital.
Cara nodded and took Finn back inside to get their things. Melody held davids hand loosely. "I....I'm sorry." She whispered.
"I'd rather you be sorry now than later." He said. He kissed her hand. "You'll be okay."
She nodded and closed her eyes, admitting to her utter exhaustion. They arrived at the hospital a few minutes later, and they wheeled her into a room and a few nurses helped her get settled in a bed.
David sat in a chair and watched. He let the nurses and doctors do what they needed to do.
The first thing they did was check on the baby with an ultrasound. "Baby looks fine." Said the doctor, looking at the screen. "Heart rate is still a little high for the little guy but we'll work on lowering that along with the mothers." He turned off the machine and covered Melody up. He went up to her side. "How are you feeling Melody? You gave everyone quite the scare." Melody rolled onto her side, sighing. "I'm just tired is all."
"She's been going nonstop and the only time she drinks water is when I remind her. "David told the doctor.
The doctor nodded, looking at her chart. "She is definitely dehydrated. Melody, I understand your work is important but you can't be pushing yourself so hard when you're pregnant." "I was handling it." She murmured.
Caroline snickered from the bathroom. "Before the twins were born." She said. She began to pee.
"You didn't handle it that well." He said."We'll do it again on one of those nights." Peter told her from the bed.
Melody looked away as tears welded in her eyes. "I admire your dedication, Melody. I really do. But you have to think about the baby and your son. So, I want you and your family to take the first flight back home tomorrow and I want you to spend the last three months of your pregnancy relaxing and taking it easy."
Caroline wiped and flushed and washed her hands. Sounds like you're telling me and not asking me." She teases as she turned off the bathroom light.
"Okay. Thank you doctor." He got up and stood at the side of the bed."I was making a suggestion." He told her. "I won't fire you to do anything. Unless you want me to." He smirked.
"I want you to nap here for a couple of hours, okay? Then I want you can do relax in your hotel room. I'll be back to check on you." He patted her foot then left the room.Melody wouldn't look at David.
"Mhm. We'll see." She crawled back into bed.
David pulled the chair closer to the bed and sat down. "I just want you to be okay." He put his arm back around her. "That good enough for me."
"I'm sorry okay? How many times do I have to say it?" She cried, wiping at her eyes. She snuggled up to him and pulled the blankets over them. "I have nothing against it. It's just one of those things you need to be in a particular mood for." She said.
"I'm not blaming you I just want you to be okay. That's all I ever want." He told her. "I can't go through it again." He muttered.He nodded. "Yeah it is." He kissed her head. "I've had weird experiences."
"Go through what again?" She looked up at him, sniffling."Like what?" She giggled.
"When Luna(I can't remember her name) was pregnant she got sick. She didn't get help and said she could get through it. It cost us our child." He said softly."When I was younger with someone I told her I wanted to try stuff. She agreed and said she wanted to get ready. I was laying on the bed waiting for her and the next thing I know in getting something shoved in me."
He chuckled.
She nodded, sighing. "I'm not sick though." She said softly.She laughed. "Well I mean that's what it is." She giggled.
"I know but you've been going and going and its doing nothing but hurt you." He said."What was one of your experiences?"
He asked her.
She turned her head into her pillow and started to sob, clenching the sheets in her hands. ((It got cut off))
He put his hand on her shoulder. He didn't know what to say."What were some of your experiences?" He asked her.
She cried for a few minutes, sniffling. She rolled onto her back and wiped at her face, trying to catch her breath.((Still got cut off lol what's after your?))
Caroline shrugged. "I mean my only scandalous experience would probably be the first time I had sex with a girl, which was when I was sixteen and ended up in a threesome with her and her boyfriend." Caroline shared.
"If something happens to you or the baby then I know you won't forgive yourself. I don't want that to happen." He said."That sounds interesting. Did he just show up or did you plan it?" He asked.
"I said I was sorry okay!" She shouted, covering her face again, crying softly. "Stop making me feel more guilty." She sniffled."It was spontaneous." She said. "I was also a little high so I didn't really care. I guess I was a sex addict when I was a teen." She sighed.
He sat back in the chair. "I've made the situation worse so I'm going to stop talking."He nodded. "That was scandalous but what was your most taboo experience?"
She just shook her head and wiped at her face, She pulled the covers up to her neck. "I want to go home." She murmured."Taboo? Like what, for example?" She asked, curling a hair behind her ear.
"We can go home in the morning." He told her."Like if someone found out or you got caught doing it you'd be shunned or people would tell you you're horrible for doing it." He said.
She nodded and gave him a sad look. "Do you hate me?"She pursed her lips. "I gave a teacher of mine a blowjob once. Or twice." She grinned.
"Never. I could never feel anything but love for you." He reached over and put his hand on hers. "Wow." He chuckled. "I slept over at a girls house and has sex with her and when she left in the morning her mom may have seduced me. She was divorced so it was all good on that front." He told her.
She nodded and turned her hand over to she could hold his hand. "I'm sorry again. I just... you know I love performing." She sighed. "And I don't like to say no to opportunities." She gasped. "You did not!" She laughed. "You're awful." She giggle, shaking her head.
He rubbed his thumb on her hand. "I know. But after the baby you can go right back. Everyone will be waiting for you.""It may not have been the only time." He said. "Her daughter almost caught us once."
Finn head on to his father and smiled at his mom.
