That night, after the twins were asleep, Caroline knocked on Noah's bedroom door before opening it.

Noah was sitting in bed reading. He looked up when Caroline entered and set his book down.

"Hey," she smiled. "What are you reading?" She asked as she walked in, sitting on the edge of his bed.

He showed her the book. "It's from the library at school."

"Holes? I remember reading that." She smiled. "Can I interrupt your reading to have that talk with you?" She asked softly.

"It's about me." She said softly. "Sweetie, have I ever...scared you, in any way?" She asked, taking his hand. "You can be honest with me okay? I won't get upset."

He looked down at the covers. "Sometimes when you yell and kick yourself in rooms but I don't think you do it on purpose." He said softly.

She nodded slowly. "You're right. I don't mean to be like that. You know I have...problems with my brain and how I think and react. It's better but lately it hasn't been so easy. You know I'd never hurt you or your siblings but in a couple of weeks I'm going to go away for a little while so I can get help so I can be sure I won't a accidentally hurt you or the kids." She touched his cheek.

He looked up into her eyes and put his hand on hers. "Who will make my lunch?"

She smiled a little. "Your dad will do what he can. But uncle Brandon and Jess will help out, and of course Melody and Alexis and grandma and grandpa." She assured him. "I don't want to leave but I have to." She sighed.

"You don't ever shout again?" He asked her, sitting up more.

She pursed her lips. "I may still have moments like that but probably not as severe and often. What I have isn't curable. It's only tolerable." She told him.

Caroline pouted and hugged him back, rubbing his back lightly. "I love you to. I'm doing this for you and Abby and the twins. I don't want to scare you guys anymore." She sniffled a little.

"Okay mommy." He pulled away and laid down. "Can you read me a bedtime story?"

"How about I read a few chapters from Holes?" She suggested, picking it up.

Noah nodded and got more comfortable.

She moved so she was leaving against the wall. She began to read where he left off.

He watched her read for a little bit but slowly fell asleep.

She kept reading until she knew he was asleep. She closed the book and kissed his forehead and tucked him in before turning off the light and leaving, closing the door with a soft sigh.

Peter was in the hallway. He just cane from Abby's room. "I told Abby about it. She said she understands but wished you didn't have to go."

She nodded. "I'll probably talk to her to another day." She went into their bedroom.

He followed Caroline. "I know you're worried about us while you're away but you don't have to. Even though you probably still will, I just want you to now that you don't."

"You're right, I'll still worry so everything you just said is irrelevant." She noted. She opened up her dresser drawer and pulled out pajama bottoms and a tank top.

He sat on the bed and looked down. "I worry as well. I sometimes feel useless because I don't know how to help. I worry that I'll say the wrong thing and I'll mess everything up. I tell myself that I'm enough but I still feel like you deserve better than me."

Half dressed, Caroline walked over to him. She stood in front of him. "Hey, look at me." She said, and then he did, she touched his cheek. "You've done nothing wrong. You've never triggered me in any way." She assured him softly. "And are you kidding? Babe, I don't deserve anyone." She said. "Someone like me isn't suppose to love." She knelt down so she was level with him. "All of my problems are worse because I do love you." She put her hands on his knees. "But that's okay because I wouldn't have it any other way.

He looked in her eyes and when she was done talking he pulled her in a hug. "I don't know what I would have if I didn't have you."

She sat in his lap, hugging him. "You complete me. I didn't think I could find someone who tolerates me like you do, loves me like you do. I've scared people away all my life. But not you." She kissed his head. "I love you babe." She whispered.

"Good because you're stuck with me." She kissed the tip of his nose then stood up to finish getting dressed.

"Good." He smiled and got up. He pulled out shorts and a shirt and changed.

She wrapped her arms around his middle.
Caroline stopped for a moment to take her evening pills.

Caroline then dimmed the lights and crawled into bed. "Want to watch some tv?"

Peter pulled the covers over them. "Sure. We have a few shows to catch up on."

She nodded and turned on the tv that was on the wall in front of them on top of their dresser. "What first?"

"We're behind in Designated Survivor." He said, liking over at the screen.

She nodded and put that on. She put the remote somewhere on the bed and scooted closer to him.

When they were close enough he put his arm around her god kissed her cheek.
