Caroline perked up. "Hey you. How was school?" She asked. Abby took off her shoes and plopped down beside Violet on the floor.
"I've got homework." Alexis murmured. She put Christian on the floor and got up, leaving the living room.
Kaya looked at Jason. "Maybe she's having nightmares again." She said to him quietly.
Noah hugged her. "It was good. We learned about flowers."Peter sat next to Christian and put him in his lap.
Jason nodded. "It is around the time when it happened. I don't know how to talk to her though."
Caroline hugged him back. "Photosynthesis huh?" She patted his cheek. "I can't believe they make you spell that in forth grade." She teased. Violet tossed her Tupperware lid at Peter, screeching.
Kaya nodded. "She's old enough to know she can talk to us." She assured.
"Just plant parts." He giggled and sat in her lap.He caught the lid. "Is that anyway to say hi to daddy?"
He sighed. "I wish I could do more to help."
She smiled and held himX kissing his head. "I'm already planning your 10th birthday party at the end of the summer." She squeezed him. Violet blushed and giggled(although it sounded odd) and held onto his leg so she could stand up.
"Me too." Kaya sighed.
"Really?! Who will be there?" He asked her.Peter smiled at her and watched her.
"Do you think it's just that or something is going on with her and Mike?" He asked.
"Whomever you want. But it's still five months away so n rush. I'm just brain storming." She told him. Violet tried to climb on his lap with Christian on it.
"I think her and Mike are okay. It's just this time of year makes her act different around and toward him." Kaya said. "It won't last long." She assured.
"Can you make cards for my classmates?" Noah asked.Peter helped her and held both of them.
He nodded. "Yeah."
Mike texted Alexis and asked her to meet him at his new apartment.
She nodded. "Not yet though. It's too early." She smoothed back his hair. Violet looked up at Peter.
Kaya sighed softly.
She texted him back, saying that she'd leave soon, and asked if he wanted her to bring anything.
"Okay." He hugged her again.Peter smiled down at Violet.
'Just you.' He texted her.
Caroline smiled and hugged him back. "Hey before you go to sleep tonight, I want to have a talk with you." She told him softly. Violet opened and closed her mouth a few times, before making a moaning sound.
She smiled down at her phone. 'Leaving now.' She said. She put her phone on her purse and grabbed her car keys before going downstairs. "Hey I'm going to Mike's. I'll let you know if I'm staying the night." She told them.
"About what?" He asked her, looking up at her.'Want to say something?' Peter sighed to her.
"Okay. Have fun. Be safe." Jason told her.
"We'll talk later okay?" She assured him. Violet made a sound of frustration.
"I will. Love you guys." Alexis blew them a kiss, then left, getting into her car.
He nodded and sat back down."Do you just want to be held." Peter picked her up.
"Things already look better." Jason said.
Caroline smiled.Violet whined but didn't make any more fuses.
What do you mean?" She asked.
Alexis drove to mikes.
'What's wrong' Pete signed to her."I'm sure spending time with Mike could help her." He said.
Mike was siting on he front steps of his apartment.
Violet shook her head and played with her toy again.Kaya nodded.
"I'm gonna make the kids a snack." Caroline went into the kitchen.
She pulled up and parked, getting out. "Hey." She closed her car door.
Peter nodded. "Okay." Mike stood up and walked over. "Hey."
She walked up to him and hugged him, pecking his lips. "How are you?"
He hugged she kissed her back. "I'm good, how are you?"
"A little tired. But good." She smiled.
"Good. Can you guess why I called you here?" He asked her.
"Because you want to see me?" She smirked. "Or help you unpack. Why else?"
"Those could be true." He nodded. "But honestly, I wanted to do something special for you but I don't know what. I know this time of year isn't easy for you and I just want to show you that I'm here for you no matter what."
Her cheeks turned pink a little and she snagged her bottom lip between her teeth. "Okay." She said slowly, nodding.
"Is there anything you would like to do?" He asked. "If you don't want to do anything that's fine to."
She thought for a minute, then shrugged. "I don't really know." She said honestly.
"Romantic comedy she ice cream it is then." He picked her up and walked inside.
She gasped and squealed. "Mike!" She shrieked, then giggled. She dropped her purse.
He set her down inside then went back and grabbed her purse. "You pick the movie and I'll get the ice cream."
"I didn't bring pajamas." She told him, although she knew that wasn't a problem. She took off her shoes. "Oh I hit 400K followers on Instagram this morning." She told him.
"That's amazing!" He said as he walked to the kitchen. "You can wear one of my shirts and sweatpants." He told her. "How do you like your ice cream? Hard, soft, slightly melted?"
"Hard. Do you have mint chocolate chip?" She asked as she went into his room to change.
"You think I wouldn't get your favorite ice cream?" He walked out to the living room. He had a tub of mint chocolate chip for her and a tub of cookie dough for himself.
She changed into a short of his and a pair of his boxer shorts. She tied her hair up into a ponytail. "Just checking." She teased. "Am I staying the night?" She asked as she sat on the couch.
He gave her her ice cream and went to change. "There isn't a time when I would say no." He changed into sweatpants and an old shirt. He came back and sat next to her.
She took the tub of ice cream. "I know but you can say no if you want to. If you ever need some space." She took a bite of the ice cream.
"When I need space from you then I'll just sit on another chair." He said. "What romantic comedy are we watching?"
She sighed. "You know what I mean mike." She said, then picked up the remote. "Friends with Benefits." She said.
"If I need space then I'll tell you. If you need space then tell me and I'll give you all the space you need." He told her. "Is Justin Timberlake in this?"
She nodded to both. "And Mila Kunis." She told him.
He nodded. "I tried friends with benefits once but it didn't work out. I had to stop it before I got feelings."
"That's why I don't believe in that sort of relationship. Someone is going to catch feelings eventually." She took another bite of her ice cream.
"Rarely had it worked but it won't for me." He started to eat his ice cream. "I care about people to much."
She nodded and put on the movie, then settled back on the couch.
"How's your family?" He asked as he took another bite.
"They're okay." She said. "Care is going to be admitted to a mental facility for three months." She told him around a mouthful of ice cream.
"That's a long time to be away. I assume Brandon and Jess are going to help watch the kids." He said.
She nodded. "I will too when I can. She doesn't want to go, obviously." She sighed.
Peter came in with Noah and Abby.
Noah took off his shoes and ran to his mom.
