"We should bring the cake out before the candela melt all over it." He said.David kissed Melody's cheek. "Merry Christmas."
Peter was showing some signs to Mike who knew some basics.
"All I want is you." He told her. "If something were to come along then great but I'm fine with just us."
"Yeah." She kissed him one last time then picked up the cake. "Can you get forks and plates?" She asked.Melody kissed him back. "Merry Christmas." She smiled.
"It's pretty easy once you get a hand of basics. And it's actually pretty fun." Alexis smiled. She did some signs with Mike.
Jessica just nodded and rested her head on his shoulder.
He nodded and grabbed the plates, forks and knives.He continued to play with Finn.
Mike was pretty good but he did mess up a few words. "I think I said I had a ham sock."
He rubbed her back.
Caroline giggled. "It's okay. The best way to practice is with someone else so you can catch each other's mistakes." Melody opened up herself Snapchat once she saw her mom in the doorway with the birthday cake. She started to sing Happy Birthday, and everyone else joined in happily.
Finn looked up at the cake in awe, mesmerized by the candles.
Noah and Abbey were having a sigh conversation but stopped when everyone started singing.David held Finn up so he could see.
Melody grinned it and filmed it on snapchat, then gave her phone to Caroline who could get some shots for her. Melody leaned against davids side, watching Finn. When they finished the song, Melody kissed finns cheek. "Can you blow baby? Ready? One, two, three!" Melody blew the candles out for him since he couldn't. Everyone clapped.
David smiled and watched Finn. He wiped a small tear from his eye.Jason brought tray tables for some. Others could use the coffee table by the couch.
Finn clapped too, elated. Melody kissed David's cheek a few times. "I'm suppose to be emotional." She teased. "Okay everyone stay seated; I'll hand out slices." Kaya put the cake down on the coffee table and began to cut it.
Caroline took a few photos and videos of the event with melody's phone.
"Doesn't mean I can't." He chuckled and kissed her back on the cheek.Jason set up the tray tables while Kaya cut the cake.
Melody giggled and kissed all over Finn's face, making him giggle.
Finn squealed and laughed, sitting down on his dad's lap. Kaya handed out a slice of cake to whomever wanted some.
David held Finn as he fed him pieces of cake.Peter helped Melody feed the twins.
"Not to much okay?" Melody said to David. She left to use the bathroom.Caroline smiled and fed the little ones with Peter.
David nodded, only feeding Finn small pieces.Brandon traded pieces with Jess.
Jess smiled and ate a little. She was pretty full from dinner.,"Are you staying the night?" Alexis asked Mike.
Brandon kissed her nose.Mike nodded. "I don't want to go home."
Alexis nodded. "Okay." She smiled. "Can mike stay the night?" She asked out loud.
Jason nodded. "Yeah he can. Everyone else is."
She nodded. "Well they're all basically married." She smirked.
"Tonight was a good night." Jason said.
Kaya smiled, then gasped. "Wait I have a surprise for everyone." She scurried out of the room."Look at her go," Caroline smirked.
"She hasn't moved like that since you two were still babies." Jason smirked.
"Because you were chasing us?" Melody giggled.Kaya came back with a slightly heavy box.
He nodded. "Yup." He looked over to Kaya when she came back. "This better be good."
"So you know I've been working on my autobiographical novel for like two years now." She started.
"And you've finished it?" Jason asked.
She nodded and pulled out a finished copy of it. The front cover was of Kaya sitting on a stool in a warehouse like setting, hugging one leg up to her chest. She rested her head on her knee, staring simply at the camera with no smile. It was in black and white.
"Are you going to let me read it now?" Jason I asked.
She nodded. "I can't stop you from buying it. You know my past but I'm worried about everyone else reading it." She gestured to her kids. "This isn't like my fictional books. This is me." Melody leaned forward and took a book from the box. "Coverless: A Raw Confession." She read the title.
"If the whole world is gong to know then I think we should as well." Brandon took a book. "You're our mother and nothing in the book will stop that or make us love you less."
She nodded. "I know. It's just hard to think of you guys picturing me in those situations." She said. "But all of your stories are in there too." She told them.
"I think I speak for us all when I say that we wouldn't have it any other way. Even though noting bad has really ever happened to me and I'm prob my the most normal out of the whole family." Brandon said.
"Don't use the word normal," Alexis said, biting her lip. "Makes me feel like a freak.""Well I'm crazy and know that." Caroline shrugged. "And I've got all my crazy babies with me." She hugged the twins and reached out to Noah.
"You're normal to me." Mike kissed Alexis's head.Peter hugged Caroline and the kids.
She leaned into Mike with a smile. "Thanks.""Everyone can have a copy or two; this box is mine to do what I want with." Kaya said. "It doesn't go on sale until next month."
"Well read it." Brandon said."Want to share a copy?" Mike asked Alexis.
Kaya nodded and took some out for them to take."Yeah sure," Alexis nodded.
"I need to get the twins to bed." Caroline said.
"Yeah birthday boy has to sleep." Melody kissed Finn's cheeK.
Jason took a book and read the back."I can put Finn to bed." David told Melody."
Mike took a book and Brandon gave one to Jess.
Melody looked at him. "Are you sure? His on-the-go crib is by the stairs folded up." She told him."Thanks." Jess took a copy.
David nodded and stood up with Finn. "Yeah I got him." He walked upstairs with Finn."You're welcome," Brandon said.
"Dont forget the crib!" She caller after him.Caroline got up and picked up the twins, holding them on either hip.
"I got it!" David called back."Do you want help?" Peter stood up.
Caroline nodded. "If you don't mind yeah."Kaya folded up the box and sat it aside.
Peter took one of the twins. "You two are going to bed soon as well," he told Abby and Noah.
"Where are we sleeping?" Abby asked."Here on the pull out couch." She said. "We'll be back." Caroline followed Peter upstairs with the sleepy babies.
Melody uploaded the photo to Instagram with a cute heartfelt caption.
Caroline gave everyone a basics to sign language book. She was looking through it with Alexis.
"But I wish I could make it bigger for you." She leaned against him.
