He suddenly had a thought but pushed it aside for later. He grabbed a tissues and dabbed her eyes to keep her makeup from running.
"Thank you." She dabbed at her eyes. "I just had a bit of a restless night is all." She said. She looked in the mirror and fixed up some makeup then shook her shoulders.
"You did keep moving around surfing the night. You sure everything's okay?" He asked.
"I'm okay." She nodded. "Lets get backstage." She grabbed her violin.
"Okay." He took Finn and carried him as he followed Melody.Peter followed Caroline.
A few security people walked them to the nam stage level. A lady handed David a pair of headphones to protect Finn's ears.
"Thank you." He put the headphones on Finn and kissed Melody's cheek. "You'll do great."
Finn whined when they were put on but then quieted down.Melody kissed him softly. "I love you babe."
"I love you too. Go get em baby." He smiled at her.
She grinned and hugged her sister and kissed Finn then bumped knuckles with Peter before she got into position. she was going to start behind a curtain until the based dropped in the song, then it would fall.
David pulled his phone out and opened Snapchat. He went to her account and waited for the right moment.
She played behind the curtain, making the crowd go wild. When the based finally dropped, the curtain fell, revealing her. She grinned and walked up the stage while playing.
David started recording a video when the curtain dropped and smiled as he watched.
Melody danced around the stage while playing, interacting with some dancers. "Mama." Finn said.
"Yeah that's mommy." Caroline smiled.
The video ended right after Finn said Mama. David posted it. "Yeah mommy's great." Peter put his arms around Caroline.
Caroline giggled and leaned against him.Melody played through a few of he violin hits. She then switched to vocals, starting with Alive.
David switched to putting Finn on his shoulders."Hey guess what." Peter whispered to her.
Finn giggled and clapped. "What?" Caroline asked.
He ticked his feet."I love you." He kissed her head.
"I love you to." She smiled.Melody then played Move Your Body. Melody competitively danced growing up so she did a lot of the dancing on stand while singing.
David took another video on Snapchat.
Melody did a few more songs, then told the band to stop. "Hows everyone doing tonight!" She asked. The crowd screamed.
"Having fun?" She asked. They screamed again.
David smiled and recorded more. He moved Finn to his hip again.
"I'm glad." She smiled. "I just wanted to take a minute to sort of tell you guys something cool." She said. She paced the stage a little. "I know this is something I should wait to announce but I don't think there any time better than this, with all of you guys here watching and with my family backstage." She was slightly out of breath.
David out the phone away and looked over to Caroline to see if she knew what Melody was going to announce.
Caroline shrugged, shaking her head."Next June,Finn will be a big brother." She said, then bit her lip.
The crowd exploded into applause cheers.
Caroline gasped.
David looked back just in time to hear what she said. His eyes widened and he held Finn tighter. He could feel his heartbeat increase."Oh wow." Peter muttered.
Melody looked back at David, smiling. "I'm about five weeks pregnant." She said, then gestured him to come on stage. Caroline took Finn from David. "Go!"
He slowly started to walk on stage. He didn't care about the crowd, he was focused on Melody. When he got over to her he hugged her tightly.
Melody giggled and wrapped her arms around him. The crowd freaked out even more. Melody out her mic down. "Are you surprised?" She pulled back a little.
He nodded. "I mean I had my suspicions but I didn't really know." He smiled at her. "Great way to tell me as well."
She smiled. "I found out this morning." She told him. She kissed him softly. "Okay I should finish my show." She hugged him again.
He hugged her back then kissed her again. "Okay. You'll do great." He smiled and walked off the stage.
"My husband ladies and gentlemen!" She said into the mic. The crowd cheered."Oh my god!" Caroline jumped up and down with Finn,
He had to sit in a chair. "Wow.""Congrats man." Peter smiled.
"Are you okay?" Caroline frowned.Melody continued on with her show.
He nodded. "Yeah. News I didn't expect to hear for a while." He chuckled.
"It was clearly an accident then." Caroline smirked. "Finn isn't even a year old yet."
"Yeah but a happy accident." He smiled.
"Congrats." Caroline smiled and hugged him. Melody continued to perform on stage, singing all her biggest hits.
"Thanks." He hugged her back. "You want to Snapchat now?" He asked her.
She nodded, taking Melody's phone from him.
David got up and watched.Peter took Finn from Caroline.
Caroline gave him Finn then put the front facing camera on her. "You guys just missed some crazy news! Stay tuned to find out what it was!"
Finn started to cry. Melody did an encore song.
Peter tried to smooth Finn. "Look at mommy. Isn't she doing amazing."
Finn whimpered and tried to push away from Peter. He was beginning to be fussy because he was tired and hungry.
"You're oddly emotional today." Caroline noted.
