"Okay." He smiled and her and kissed her cheek.
"Then now." He said. He moved his hand to her lower back.
"Pause the movie." She kissed his neck
He bit his lips and paused the movie.
A few days later, it is was three in the morning and Kaya was at the kitchen table with her laptop, writing the book about her life. She had tears in her eyes as she stared at the blank chapter.
Jason slowly walked down the stairs and saw her. "Can't sleep again? Or did you not go to bed?" He sat next to her.
She wiped her eyes and minimized her laptop screen. "Didn't go to sleep." She murmured.
He could tell she was crying from the light reflecting off her eyes. "Where are you right now?" He asked, referring to the book and her life.
She swallowed hard. "few months after your accident." She closed her laptopZ
He nodded. "What happened then? What was sad?" He asked her quietly.
Kaya bit down on her lip. "We've been through a lot together Jason," she started slowly.
He nodded and looked at her the best he could in the darkness. He tried to find her hand.
She exhaled a shaky breath, gripping his hand. "We've been through so much and yet we're still married. Happily," she sniffled. "I...I need to tell you something Jason and I'm not sure if you'll ever want to look at me or touch me again after I tell you."
"No matter what it is. No matter what you've done or didn't do, I will always love you. We've stayed together this long and I won't let anything break us apart. Especially something from the past." He told her.
She whimpered. "Remember when Jeff almost raped me?" She asked quietly.
He nodded. "Yes. It was right after I had started getting use of my legs again."
She nodded. "Well..there was a reason he tried to.."
"I know. He was a dick and a pervert. He manipulated you." He said to her.
"No he didn't," she shook her head. "Before that..a few weeks before while you were at therapy he came over," she wiped her nose. "He....he attempted to get with me in our kitchen and I kept saying no but then somehow I...we ended up having sex," she explained, then covered her face. "I'm so sorry Jason," she cried. "I felt like shit afterwards and regretted it all. He kept telling me I needed sex from a real man and I-I was so vulnerable because I missed you so much and I just-" she broke off with a sob, burying her face in her hands.
He hugged her and rubbed her back. "I know. I've known for a while." He told her. "I don't blame you for anything and I don't love you any less."
"What?" She sat up. "You knew? But how?"
"After I came back from therapy you seemed different. After Jeff tried to rape you I kinda figured it out. It's not the first time he's tried it. He broke up Joe abs Barbra's marriage by having sex with her. He usually goes for married women." He told her.
"And you didn't say anything?" She asked incredulously. "I've been beating myself up over this almost fifteen years!"
"I wasn't sure and I didn't know how you'd react if I asked you if you cheated on me. Also I think having you admit it yourself would help with the guilt." He said.
"So you've just been waiting for me to say something?" She wiped her eyes.
He nodded. "To sum things up, yes." He put his hands on her cheeks.
She whimpered and pulled away. "How could you do that to me?"
"I thought you didn't want to talk about it. To forget it." He said.
"I can never forget this Jason." She said.
"I never expected you to stay with me." He muttered. "I thought you'd see that in not the best or perfect and go with someone who was."
She sighed. "I would never leave you," she looked at him. "You were here for me when nobody else was. You were there through all that shit with my dad and my uncle." She said. "Why would I leave you after all of that? Just because we couldnt properly have sex?"
He held her hand against. "And other reasons. Since I couldn't work I thought you'd want someone who would help support you and the kids."
"No one else deserves to help the kids but you." She said.
He looked up at her. "But…haven't you ever doubted me? Even just once?"
"Really? Wow. I must not give myself enough credit." He smirked slightly.
"Babe stop." She sighed, standing up.
He stood up with her. "Let's go to bed. If you want to talk in the morning we can. For right now I think sleep would be good."
"Should I sleep on the couch?" She asked quietly.
"Only if I'm with you." He said. "I want to hold you like I used to. With you on top of means with me rubbing your back until we fall asleep." He told her.
She bit her lip and nodded. "I'd like that."
He put his arm around her and walked upstairs with her.
Kaya followed him upstairs and entered their bedroom. She turned on the lamp by their bed.
