"It's time." She held her arm out. Kaya looked between the lawyer and Jason, then took her lawyers arm.
Kaya took a deep breath and stepped into the packed courtroom.
A few hours later.....After Kaya delivered her story and listened to her witnesses, which were her dad and Jason. The verdict was that her uncle AND her dad were guilty of child abuse and her uncle was guilty for rape.
((He's not suppose to be beside her))
Kaya began to cry at the witness bench beside the judge who smacked is mallet on the table. "Both accused will be sentenced twenty plus years in prison without bail. Court dismissed."
"Kaya, may I have a word with you?" The judge said, stepping off of seat. "Y-yeah. Sure." She said.
"I'm be right back." She told Jason.
Kaya followed the judge into his private room.
She starred out the window. Cameras and news crews were trying to get a view of her.
Once inside she sighed and sat on the couch.
"I can't forget the look on my moms face." She whispered.
She let it out, breaking out into a sob fest.
"What happened to my life?" She sobbed harder
She clamped her eyes shut and sobbed harder.
"I love you to." She said between cries.
"Where are we going to go?" She whispered after her crying eased a little.
She noticed her story being broadcasted on the news, showing clips of her outside the court room.
She didn't have the energy to argue.
She reached down and pulled off her pants.
She snuggled into his arms and sighed.
Kaya was awake and had been for a few hours. She found it difficult to sleep these days. She at in the living room, curled up in a blanket and watching the morning news.
Her eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep as she flipped through the channels.
She starred blankly at the tv screen.
She nestled her cheek on his thigh. "I couldn't sleep."
