"To be fair, I was about to call you but I passed out." He said.
Kaya nodded. "Please never do that again."
"I will try not to. The hospital never checked if I had alcohol in my system but I think I should cut back a little." He said.
"A little?" She scoffed, then laughed.
"Okay maybe a lot." He smirked. "How is Alexis?"
"She's good. And she doesn't hate you, Brandon. I remember when I was in her state I thought I hated everyone to. Just because the way they looked at me, like I was broken and they felt bad made me angry." She said.
"You never really told us what happened." He played with his fingers. "What did happen?"
Kaya sighed and was silent for a moment. "I grew up in an abusive household. Besides being hit and yelled at by my father, I had to deal with my uncle molesting me whenever he came by to visit." She paused, taking a breath. "Then when I was seventeen my uncle finally raped me, and your father is the one who came over and found me afterwards."
"It must be hard now. Seeing her go through what you went through." He looked over at her.
Kaya nodded, gripping the steering wheel. "Of course it is. I promised myself that if I ever had children, I would never allow them to experience what I went through." Her voice shook.
"No one blames you. There wasn't really anything anyone of us could do." He said.
She started to cry. "I know. But to Alexis?" She sobbed.
She sniffled and leaned against him.
"Let's go home, okay? I want to talk to her." He said.
He sat back in his seat and buckled up.
He kept glancing from the window to her.
A few minutes later he pulled into the driveway.
He got out and walked up the driveway.
She walked in behind him and sighed, heading to the kitchen.
He went up to see Alexis.Jason walked into the kitchen and hugged her from behind.
She giggled and leaned back against him as she grabbed a mug.
Alexis was sitting up in bed, scribbling in a notebook.
Brandon knocked on her door, then entered.He kissed her shoulder. "Your okay?"
Alexis looked up. "Hey. You okay?" Kaya nodded, turning on the coffee maker, "yeah I'm okay, are you?"
He nodded. "Yeah I'm good. You?""Holding you, I'm good." He put his chin in her shoulder.
"Stinky." She smirked.She giggled again and inclined her head up and kissed his cheek.
"You could put a trash bag on the cast age take a shower." He chuckled.He smiled. "I told Alexis."
"I know but I need moms help." She said."Told her what?" She asked
"Oh yeah." He pulled the chair from her desk and sat in it."About Brandon." He said.
She raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?""What did she say?" She asked.
"Sitting here and taking to you." He said. "Is that a problem?""She asked if he did it to spite her." He said.
"Okay.." She said slowly, closing her notebook."He didn't." Kaya said as she poured milk into her coffee.
"I can leave if you want." He started to get up."That's what I said." He told her.
"No I was just saying." She shrugged.She nodded and turned around in his arms and wrapped her arms around his waist.
He sighed. "I don't hate you." He said.He held her and kissed her head.
"And I don't hate you." She said back.She sighed and kissed the centre of his chest.
"Good." He nodded.He smiled. "I love you, Kaya West."
"I'm sorry for getting bad." She muttered."And I love you, Jason West." She whispered.
"It's not your fault." He said.He kissed her gently.
"I'm just..." She shook her head. "I'm not who I used to be." She started to cry.She closed her eyes and kissed him back.
He got up and sat next to her.He smiled against her lips.
She covered her mouth and sobbed, leaning over to lean against again.She giggled against his lips and deepened he kiss.
He put his arm around her and hugged her. "It's okay."He picked her up and placed get on the counter, deepening the kiss.
