She smiled, rubbing his chest. "I know."
He kissed her head. "Goodnight, Kaya. I love you.l
"I love you to." She kissed his cheek.
Sometime during the night, his name was being called.
He woke up and instantly knew it was Alexis. He stumbled to her room, still hang asked.
"My leg itches and hurts." She whined, referring to the one with a cast.
He sighed. "I know. There's nothing I can do."
The kicked the covers off with her good leg. "What about the medicine mom got at the pharmacy?"
"You can only take it every five hours." He looked at the clock. "You still have another two hours."
She whined like a child then pointed at her desk. "Pass me that ruler please."
He nodded and gave it to her. "Why didn't I think if that."
She sighed and straightened her casted leg and slid the ruler in at the top by her thigh.
"Good?" He sat on the bed next to her.
She nodded, groaning. "That feels so good."
A few minutes later she took the ruler out and placed it on her nightstand with a sigh.
She nodded, pulling the covers back up.
"Anything else you need before I go back to bed?" He asked
"Does Brandon hate me?" She murmured.
He shook his head. "No. He thinks you hate him."
"Because when he tried to apologise to you, you pushed him away." He told her.
"I didn't like how he was talking to me." She said.
He nodded. "I know. But he did try to apologise. He left the house drunk. We don't know where he is."
She sighed. "Our family is fucked up."
"Yup." He put his head on the headboard.
"Anything else you want to talk about?" He yawned.
"I want my pain meds." She sighed.
"You have to wait an hour." He said.
"Daddy:" she whined, hiding her face in her pillow.
"It won't make a difference." She whined
"I'm not." He told her. "I'll give them in an hour."
He sighed. "Fine. One." He got up aged found the medicine.
"That's going to fuck it up even more though. I'm suppose to take two." She said.
"How about this. You try to sleep and I'll stay here. If you go past the hour and you don't sleep, then you'll take two." He said
She sighed and nodded, laying back down. "Okay."
She pulled the covers up to her waist and traced a bruise on her forearm.
