"You can to see her if you wish. But only two people at a time in the room." He said.
"Thank you." He looked at Kaya. "Do you want to?"
He lightly squeeze her hand and walked to the room.
Kaya followed and gasped when she saw Alexis in the hospital bed, hooked up to many machines.
Tears filled his eyes as he walked over to her bed.
Her heart monitor was beeping softly. She had a breathing thing in her nose. The bruises on her face were visible.
He sat down in the chair next to her bed abc placed his hand over hers.
Kaya sniffled and stood beside him. "We're here baby girl."
He closed his eyes and looked away. He couldn't see her like this.
Alexis's mouth opened and she inhaled sharply suddenly.
Alexis exhaled slowly and her hand twitched.
He sighed and leaned back in the chair.
She whimpered and moved her good leg under the covers.
He watched her until he couldn't anymore.
He looked over at her. "I'm here, baby."
She started to cry which hurt her whole body. "I'm so sorry." She rasped.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. This was not your fault in anyway." He put his hand on hers.
"I know. The medicine will kick in in a few."He moved his hand to her head abc ran his fingers through her hair gently.
She snuggles and turned her head toward him, closing her eyes. Kaya rubbed her arm and Jason's back at the same time.
"I love you Alexis. We all do." He told her.
She shook her head, crying softly.
He leaned forward and kissed her head gently.
"Let's let her rest." Kaya murmured.
He nodded and walked back to the waiting room.
"But I feel bad if we don't. They'll beg us." She sighedZ
He sighed. "We don't have to tell them just yet."
She nodded. "Okay." She squeezed him. "This reminds me so much of myself.."
"I know. But we'll make it through this." He said

Almost two weeks later, Alexis was allowed to go home. Her leg was still in a cast. She edited it her hospital room for her parents.
Jason walked into the room with Kaya. "Ready to go home?"
Alexis was sitting up in bed without a smile. She hasn't smiled since. "Mom has to help me get dressed." She murmured.
