He hugged her back. "Hey sweetie. How are you?"

"Good. Um, we have some news to share to you both." She said, stepping back. "That's why we came by."
"What is it?" He looked at her belly.
"Come." She took his hand and led him to the living room.
He walked with her.Peter followed them.
Caroline sat down on the couch and rummaged through her purse.Kaya sat on the love seat with Jason.
Peter sat next to Caroline. Jason put his arm around Kaya.
Caroline took out the ultrasound photos. She handed them the first one, which wass just of their son.
"Oh. He is so amazing." He looked at her with a smile.
She bit her lip as she handed them the next photo, where you could see the other tiny baby.
He looked at it and showed it to Kaya. "Is that one just a smaller picture?"
Caroline cleared her throat as her mother looked at the picture."No." Caroline said, then handed them the next picture with both the babies in it.
He looked at all the photos. "I thought you weren't carrying twins."
"It turns out I am." She murmured. "Apparently she was to small to detect until now. She's the size of a three month old when her brother is five months." Her voice shook.
"A boy and a girl." He couldn't help but smile slightly and hugged her.
She hugged him back tightly. "She's so small because of me. They can't guarantee she'll live."
"She will. I know it. You want to know why?" He pulled back and looked at her.
"Why?" She said in a small voice like she used to when she was little.
"Because you are a fighter and she will be just like you." He told her.
She whimpered and buried her face against his chest.
He hugged her tightly. "I live you sweetie." He kissed her head. "Very much."
"I love you to daddy." She whispered, sniffing. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." He smiled.Peter joined the hug.
Kaya also joined, kissing the top of their heads. "I'll go get a muffin and tea for everyone."
Kaya went into the kitchen. "How is everything here dad?" Caroline asked.
"Great. Your brother just moved out." He chuckled.
She smiled. "Good for him. Alexis just started high school, right?"
"She did. Her sophomore dance is in a couple of weeks." He ran his fingers through his hair. "I thought I was done with this stuff but I guess not."
"One more to go." She laughed and patted his knee. "Be grateful she's not like me. Alexis is so smart. She'll be a great doctor someday."
He nodded. "She actually should be getting home in a few minutes."
She nodded. "Cool. I miss my little sissy."
"She misses everyone else. Speaking of your sisters, have you heard from Melody?" He asked
"Last thing I heard was that they were back home." She said.
"They said they would come visit within the week." He said
"I'm happy that they're finally getting married. I feel like we've been waiting forever." She laughed.
"Yeah. We also heard that you might be an aunt." He said.
Caroline nodded. "Melody briefly told me about that. That they were trying. Good for them."
He nodded. "I really hope it works out."
"Me to. Considering what they've went through." She said. Kaya came in with a tray of muffins and tea.
Caroline took a muffin. "Still writing mom?" Kaya nodded, taking a seat next to Jason. "Working on book number ten."
"It looks great." He bit his muffin."What's it about?" Peter asked.
"Spoilers Peter." Caroline giggled.
"Is it anything like your other books?" He took some tea.
"Not really no. There's only so many I can write before I start repeating myself. But so far no one has complained." She said."I want to write to. Well, I do. I'm just not published yet." Caroline took a bite of her muffin.
"They are good stories." He told her.
"Thanks." She smiled.The front door opened and closed.
Jason looked over.Peter sipped his tea.
Alexis walked into the living room wearing her school uniform, which was a pleaded skirt, knee high socks, and a button up shirt underneath her sweater. Her hair was long and blonde like her mother's and her sisters. "Hey Care and uncle Peter." She smiled."Hey Lex." Caroline smiled.
