Role-playing games aren't just Dungeons & Dragons. You could read a GM's or player's guide, something in the LitRPG genre, or even a regular novel in which the characters play an RPG.

I finished NPCs last night. It was clever and immensely entertaining. I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys tabletop RPGs.

Amy (amyml88) | 112 comments I was never into RPGs and really didn't even know what would qualify as LitRPG. So at the last minute, I googled it just to see and Ready Player One came up. Makes sense. I've had it on my wishlist for a while, so I checked it out from Overdrive.

I truly enjoyed this ode to the 80s and pop culture in general. It was a fun and quick read.

That sounds like a cool twist!

I had some issues with RP1, but as long as I just wallowed in the nostalgia, I had fun.
