Hello all,

In honor of the new Little Women movie coming out, your challenge is to read a classic novel. You could read Persuasion (my favorite Jane Austen) or Daddy-Long-Legs or The Count of Monte Cristo or Fahrenheit 451, etc. There are so many options!

Happy Holidays and Happy Reading!

Greg (danceyeah) | 290 comments Shouldn't this be reading "challenge" instead of "record"?

I read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (started yesterday, finished today).

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1224 comments Every December I listen to the audio book of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I'll post when it's done. I won't be so speedy as Greg because I have another audio book in progress that has to finish first.

Yes Greg, you are correct. Thanks! I'll see if I can fix it.

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1224 comments I have finished my challenge, listening to the audio book of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, the same as Greg. Wouldn't it be funny if we all read the same book? I know it won't happen but it's fun to imagine!

Any other fun recs from friends you guys are picking up?

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 675 comments I'm half-way through Gone With the Wind. The audiobook is in two parts, so I've been waiting on this huge cliffhanger right in the middle of the book.

message 9: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 183 comments I also decided to listen to "A Christmas Carol" this month (Jim Dale as narrator). Right now I am just less than half way through.

message 10: by Linda (new)

Linda Nielson | 280 comments I read A Bear Called Paddington. It was fun to reread this. It has been a long time.

Yay! If anyone needs suggestions let me know what genre you enjoy and I'll do my best to find you a classic in that genre.

message 12: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 183 comments Finished "A Christmas Carol." I loved Jim Dale's narration. Last year I listened to it with a different narrator (I don't remember the name) who was also pretty good.

There's a Patrick Stewart reading/one man play thing out there of that one, that's pretty great.

I'd considered buying that one because he has such a wonderful voice, but I decided not to because it is abridged.

Hey everyone. I hope you get your classics in before the 31st. I will be headed out on vacation, so I won't see everyone's answers and responses until I get back. Happy holidays!
