Superior???? I think not!
I have a FB friend, Michelle H., who is from Lincoln. I thought at first that was you but I just looked at your profile. Says you are now in Austin, TX.
Where did you live in NE?

We live in Lincoln, back here now for about 2 1/2 yrs after almost 40 yrs in other locations, 20 yrs in the Austin area. I thought I'd changed that. Grr

Fun to have a second Cornhusker with us. :) I love reading about your journey to Jane, Michelle. I don't think I could have concentrated on Regency era writing with a toddler in the house, either.
So glad to have you back and hitting the books with us!

Woohoo! Welcome NorCal Anngela!
Looking forward to seeing you shake hands with Mr. Knightley and bid farewell to Donwell by the end of the year. Regardless, it will be a fun journey of reading and visiting here in the group, I'm sure. :)

I LOVE this idea! I'm thinking I might do the same thing. It's a new year - good time to change things up! Thanks for sharing, Dawn!

Howdy, Susan!
Welcome to our fond group of enablers who will happily keep you reading JAFF to your heart's content.
How cool that you came to Austen through that cute You've Got Mail movie.
Cheering you on for the challenge!

I am Norwegian and fell into JAFF by a coincidence, early in 2016. This will be my third challenge year and my TBR-pile has more than quadrupled since January 2018 when I entered my first challenge. I now consider it a lost cause, lol.
My goal is to read 200 books and reach the Pemberley library in between my scribblings.

Welcome back, Elin!
So glad to have you back. Haha, yes, that pile just keeps growing like someone gave it miracle-gro.
Rooting you on to Mr. Darcy's library.

That's a great intro to Austen! Happy reading!!!

Welcome Dawn. I can so relate to not having anyone in my group of friends or relatives to 'speak Jane' with. That's why I adore the blogs I follow, and this group on GR is just wonderful.

Whatever the case, I'm sure I'll enjoy my dear Austenesque books. Happy reading, everyone! ;)
Yay! Maria's back and going for her personal best. We'll be cheering you on and maybe you'll finish one of the chunky books, too. :)

A little about me: I'm a writer and editor for an association management company, and I also do freelance editing for a few JAFF authors and am about 25,000 words into my first novel (JAFF). I live in the Baltimore suburbs, and I have a daughter in college.
I hope to read more than the 25 books I read last year (20 of which were JAFF), and I hope to incorporate some non-JAFF as well. With that in mind, I'm going to aim for the Miss Anne Elliot level again this year with 20 books.
Happy New Year everyone!

Also returning, our very on Anna. Good to see you too.
We have so many new faces to add to our little party here. Yeah!! The more the merrier. Welcome, everyone.
Anna wrote: "Hi everyone! I'm thrilled that this group is back again in 2020! I may not get to post as frequently as I'd like or join in as many discussions as I would like, but when I do get the chance to post..."
Yay, Anna's back!
Real life can get busy so I get not being able to do all the things you wish. I want this group to always be a no-pressure place where people can drop in and visit. :)
Miss Anne is happy to welcome you to her place and I'm rooting for you to finish twenty Austenesque and plenty of other books, too. :)

I’m from France and it’s my third year in this group. I haven’t been active last year, mainly trying to read your updates as much as I could follow.
I hope this year to be able to be more active... we’ll see.
I first discovered Jane Austen through the BBC series about ten years ago and then her books. My preference goes to Pride and Prejudice and then Persuasion.
I’m amazed by the variety and the richness of stories coming from these masterpieces written by Jane Austen.
Happy reading year to you all.
Bonjour, Tlotem!
Yay for having you back and ready to participate as much as you can. No worries if you can only be semi-active and just follow the discussions sometimes. :)
Fun to learn how you came to Jane Austen through the TV adaptions. I love Persuasion the best so I'm glad it was one of your favs.
Happy reading to you as well! :)

Woohoo, glad you're back, Deborah.
Yeesh, you had one of those 'interesting' years as the Chinese call them. Hopefully, it will go much smoother this year. I do love how you came to Jane. :)

You have such a pretty name!

Born in the USA but grew up overseas and read to keep up my English. Now I read for pure enjoyment and to help with work commute.
Have become obsessed with JAFF! Persuasion is my absolute favorite, but have been busy with all the P&P variations so far.
That's sensational, Sam! Glad you've joined to indulge your JAFF and wishing you well on your reading goals

Can you believe I somehow got through High School in the midwest, USA without reading Jane? And I was taking extra literature classes. I knew about her, and tried reading her in the early 80's when our son was very young and challenging. It really disturbed me that I couldn't handle the language, I read Shakespeare in college for crying out loud. But I had truly gotten so conditioned to reading short short things, magazine articles and short stories, yearly anthologies of the Best Short Stories of the year, and then those 'minimalist' fiction stories so 'in' in the 80's and 90's. After the '95 P&P was shown in the U.S. and then S&S, I told myself 'this is nuts, you have to read these!' So I made it my New Year's resolution which I did accomplish, and the rest is history. My history, and convoluted but mine. I didn't start reading JAFF until around 2005-07, though.
