I voted but would be very nervous about trying to finish a book within 2 weeks, especially with other challenges. Hopefully, I can juggle two challenges at once, a long book with NFL or Bingo or whatever. I'm looking forward to seeing the Surprise and who wins these two. Not sure I can handle 3 challenges and the monthly though. I'm just not that fast a reader!

I'm just not that fast a reader!."If it helps ease your anxiety, only ONE of these challenges will be selected! So, it will be our mystery surprise challenge (that we are working hard on behind the scenes to iron out the final details) and then the top challenge as voted on by you! Plus the monthly tag.
Also, as a little teaser, the mystery challenge is not structured so that readers read one book a month. It is more fluid and flexible.

With your thinking, I would encourage continued talk about the LBC and also the Goodreads challenge.
Booknblues wrote: "With your thinking, I would encourage continued talk about the LBC and also the Goodreads challenge."Haha, now I'm just picturing an elaborate scheme of misdirection where everyone talks at length about things that they don't actually want winning with every vote ending up completely baffling to outside observers XD.
I pretty much read at least one really long book every year -meaning hitting at least 1000 pages, usually longer. It's often a book I've had sitting around for a while. I've got quite a few still lurking on my shelves waiting their turn - Les Miserables, War and Peace, Executive Orders (yes, the Tom Clancy)...but I've got Proust as my LBR for the next several months. That's the granddaddy of all the lurking LB in my TBR Towers.

Or maybe it is just the opposite. I'll never tell someday I'm going to readAnna Karenina.

Brilliant Idea!!
I have 5 books over 1000 pages on my shelf...an 6 pages of books between 500 and 999. I do love a long book...

I'm glad to hear that about the mystery challenge. Many of the tag suggestions are so narrow, I was afraid we'd all be scrambling hard every month to find a book that would fit.
I think many of us are asking questions to help us make an informed decision, since we will only get one of the choices. If we don't have details, we might make erroneous assumptions.
On the NFL, I'm wondering what would happen if someone failed to read their book in two weeks. Would everyone lose points?
P.S. I meant to tell you about the Outlander sale on amazon and audible. I hope it's not over already.
Joanne wrote: "I have 5 books over 1000 pages on my shelf...an 6 pages of books between 500 and 999. I do love a long book..."It's funny. When I look at the list of books I read, there were some that really surprised me. Lonesome Dove seemed much shorter than 900+ pages.
NancyJ wrote: "On the NFL, I'm wondering what would happen if someone failed to read their book in two weeks. Would everyone lose points?."This is one of those questions that we will provide more information on should NFL be the tag selected. I doubt that people would be penalized points, but certainly would lose out on the points that would have been collected with that book.
More details to come if/when necessary.
NancyJ wrote: "P.S. I meant to tell you about the Outlander sale on amazon and audible. I recently discovered Scribd and it is less expensive and you can listen to as many books a month as you want!
The Outlander books are on there, and I have already bookmarked the next book I have up in the series so I am ready to go!
I have 4 books on my TBR that are over 1000 pages and 65 have 500+ pages... There are actually more than that because many of them are series, and I usually only put the next in a series on my TBR and not the whole series. I am unsure if I will vote though, because I don't know if I can commit to PBT challenges... But I have til the 14th to figure that out.
You can vote without committing in advance! Then you can see what is selected, learn about the mystery challenge, then decide what you have time for.

LoL, even though I know I will read add them back when I get to them!
Yeah I know, it just feels unfair to the rest of you guys if I vote and don't participate. I'll think on it.
Johanne wrote: "Yeah I know, it just feels unfair to the rest of you guys if I vote and don't participate. I'll think on it."I vote but if one wins that I don't feel I can manage, I don't participate. That said, I have participated in challenges here in the past.
Theresa wrote: "Just remenbered another monster book awaiting my attention...A Brief History of Seven Killings"I have this too! I am so excited to read it. Keep me posted if you decide to read it and we can buddy read (if you are interested).
DM me though, I might miss it in a thread.
I do not have any good library here and my chances of getting Non-fiction books are next to nil. I have voted and listed the NFL challenge also but I will not be able to participate in that. I hope it is all right. I am interested in all the other 3 challenges. Thanks.
Viji wrote: "I do not have any good library here and my chances of getting Non-fiction books are next to nil. Voting is just a way of getting a sense of what most people are interested and likely to participate in.

Oh, I will! but won't be until late in 2020 -- I have Proust....

I certainly have a few excellent NF I would be happy to ship to someone in need.

Kind of hope non fiction or long book wins. Though we are all going to have a lot of fun no matter what it is. And as I’ve said we’re gonna have that fun together!
Nicole R wrote: "Hahaha! Well, you still have a few more days to wait!"Torture for those of us who were able to vote posthaste, but fair to those who can't always get here right away (I've been in both camps).

Great to see you again, Joni, and I am sure you will be able to get more time for reading and other things you enjoy again :)
It’s tomorrow in NZ and Australia already - does that mean Susie, Idit, Jemima and I can have advance notice?!!
Brilliant idea Kate. Nicole ... it’s been tomorrow for aaaaaages! Also -do we vote for the monthly tag for January? I can’t remember what happened last year
I'm awake! I am out of bed! I am on my computer! And I will be posting soon....but not before coffee 😉
