"Less art. More matter" - it's in Hamlet. When that Polonius dude is going on and on about something and not getting to the point, the Queen (Hamlet's mommy) says that line. Basically, "Get to the point before I have you beheaded" (That's the Laura-Lee paraphrased version of Shakespeare )
