Valentina (vroveri) | 12 comments I've read the first three books of the series but arent really interested in reading the 4th and 5th since they have nothing to do with Elena and Raphael. Can I skip to book 6 without missing much? Would I still understand what's going on? Please let me know!

Michelle(Chelle) aka Nightshade - Cake Whisperer (michmag) I wouldn't Valentina. The background story continues in the other books. Personally I loved the books about Raphael's Seven.

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) | 256 comments Just finished book 8. Pesonally i find it nice to find out more about the others.
The story continues through every books, it would be hard to follow.
But don't worry, Raphael and Elena are a constant in every books!

FantasyLiving I wouldn't skip them. But I'm anal like that. Series order all the way.

There are some pretty big changes that happen during the books that you should know going into book 6.

Rox | 69 comments In every book there is something of elena and raphael :) you will miss the developement of their relationship

Valentina (vroveri) | 12 comments Hmm ok, I just can't get excited about the other books :/

Lisa I just finished book two, have three ready to go, but I don't know about after that either. I've missed Kate Daniels, so may go back to that. The problem I'm having is so many of these books are becoming predictable, I'm not getting that from " Kate" yet, so it's easy to go back to.

I'm just so interested in Raphael and Elena's story that I don't care about the other character's stories. I think it might have been better for me if they were novellas rather than full-length novels

message 10: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Yeah that's so true. I might be interested in Dimitri, but the others haven't really struck a chord with me. This sounds weird I know, because we are talking about fantasy, but I like to be able to recognise or relate to my main character in some way. It's my way of making it a bit real, if that's not too strange. I guess thats why I don't feel over invested in the series, and would be happy to stop at 3 or 4.

Sharon Anderson (goodreadscomsharon_anderson) | 40 comments Oooh, sounds like a great series! I'll have to add that to my list.

Akaria Gale | 101 comments When it comes to GH, I gotta read 'em all! I like taking a break from Elena & Raphael to find out about the rest of his crew. She better get to Illium soon or I'm gonna bust!

Lisa I have to get back to Kate Daniels. I love that series too. I have all these other books I have bought and are in the pile, but I keep buying these, I can't stop myself...........lol

Sharon Anderson (goodreadscomsharon_anderson) | 40 comments It's really hard, once you're attached primary characters, to want to have anything to do with secondary, or terchiary. It's really the job of the author to make those characters engaging enough for readers to want to go beyond anything having to do with the primary characters.
Of course, George Martin does a masterful job in the Game of Thrones series. He changes POVs throughout the books from the start. I have my favorite characters, but that isn't because he writes them with that in mind.
But not every author is going to be another Martin.

I am a devoted fan of Raphael & Elena but honestly the other books are really good and you will fall in love with the side characters. Personally I LOVED Jason's book even more than Dmitri's.

Guild Hunter is my favorite series and she hasn't disappointed me yet. The novellas are great reads too and help to push the story along. I would recommend them as well.
