I don't remember much of the book, so I peeked at the Wikipedia write-up. Nowhere does it mention the civil war as a theme. The themes are slavery, religion and motherhood. Themes Be careful, there are spoilers in the link.

I did think it slightly odd that it was on there as I don't remember the civil war being a big part of the story. But on the up side you've given me a good place to check for book themes, I always forget that Wikipedia can occasionally be useful :-)
Janice, can I use The Calculating Stars for "Historical Fiction about exploration"? It's sci fi set in 1952 about exploring and colonizing space. Historical fiction is a genre listed on the main page. I just don't know how historically accurate you're looking for.

Oh, thanks Amanda! I'm following that series and the 3rd book is to be released mid July. Perfect fit 😊
Yes, me too. I might read the second book for this task. I do not think that I paid much attention to the fact that this was a series when I read The Calculating Stars for the multiple women on the cover task.

Do you also ignore articles? For example would The Dugout work?
Leslie wrote: "Do you also ignore articles? For example would The Dugout work?."The task reads "one word only", so titles with articles will not work.

I suspected that, but just had to ask :)
