I would recommend Scrublands. Chris Hammer knows how to bring the heat of a rural summer into the story.
12 Days at Silver Bells House this one is set in Australia (at Christmas) and its a short read!Rain Dance is technically a YA book but a great read
I'm pretty sure the The Cattleman's Daughter is mainly set in summer with bushfires but its been a while since i read it
There are heaps of Aussie reads set in our summer months Em. If you click on Bookshelf at the top right of this page, every book there is by an Aussie author. So you can browse at your leisure :)
New release The Weekend by Charlotte Wood is set by the beach in the days leading up to Christmas. It’s also a very quick read!
Not sure if it's set in summer, but it's set during the bushfire season. I thought I'd read this but I can't find my review. Where There's SmokeHere's another bushfire one: Home Fires I know at least some of it is set over the Christmas period.
There's another too - it's a new release, to be published in April now.
Torched by Kimberley Starr
They delayed the publication date because of the bushfires - debut AA :)

I am looking for a work of fiction that takes place during the Aussie summer. That's it. I am open to general fiction, crime or romance. It can be a historical or contemporary time setting.
Thanks in advance!
* I know this group has challenges throughout the year but I've really enjoyed the Popsugar Reading Challenge. If you're interested, their 2020 challenge prompts have been published and there's a Goodreads Group for those doing the challenge.
