I do hope that this is not off topic: I'm looking for beta readers, but I'm not an author, hence the post under discussion. If people on goodreads are not interested in the idea, then my goose is cooked … I’ve launched Readings (www.readingsjournal.net), a new journal in literary scholarship, the first one (to my knowledge) that sets out to combine “serious scholarship” (originality, peer-reviewing etc.) with readability and general interest. It’ll be free, and we want it to be fun!
I’m doing all this in my spare time, and I need help: before peer-review, I’d like to filter submissions through a “reader-review”. If you sign up (please do!), I’ll send you – max. once a week – a link to a poll with a couple of abstracts: short descriptions of articles, under 100 words each. Then you get to decide which ones you might be interested in reading. (If you have no five minutes to spare in a given week, just ignore the invite; no obligations.)
Please only sign up if your literary interests are relatively broad. If you know that you’d only vote for articles on very few topics (be it detective stories or Shakespeare), please abstain for now. If you’d like to help, please email me alexandra@readingsjournal.net. Here’s the first poll: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
You’re very welcome to participate and also to forward this call. Thank you!
