160 pages is, on average, enough to be a novel"
Thx, Andrew. Am aware, but think 160pgs/40k words are general guide?
Created thread & asked b/c made some corrections to edition & someone changed back. That confused me. Helpful to get concrete answer so people stop fussing re: 2006 title :)

In this case, even if it is counted as a novel (and several reviews are calling it a novella, so I question the novel status), I'm wondering if it actually counts as a prequel (meaning numbering it 0).
Q specifically re: book @ https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... . Numbered as #0.5 or #1?
Know as general rule, novellas & shorts are listed using decimals & not 'primary' on series list. One exception to general rule applies to series in which all works are novellas.
However, I *think* another exception considered page length &/or 'intent' (for lack of better word)? As in,
Frex, here, rivka notes that most would consider 170pgs as short novel. But page-counting not always reliable so...?
Book at above link = 163pgs (which is @ 40k word mark for novels).
Also, this book was intended, from first publication in anth, to be #1 in IAD series. Even publisher's page has this: Discover a dark and wicked new world in Kresley Cole’s remastered tale “The Warlord Wants Forever,” the first scorching installment in her #1 New York Times bestselling Immortals After Dark series....
So what is correct treatment & numbering for this title on series list, pls? And whatever answer, could GR staff add note on series page and title re: final decision?
TIA!
