Janet, good luck on your challenges, you have some great selections. By the why, at least for me there is no question, The Cast of Amonatillado, is horror, and a really good one. Enjoy!

Bob - I forgot to take the question mark off after I questioned you on the appropriate length for these choices. Since you answered me and said that there was no length requirement I should have already done that.

I'll be curious to hear what you thought of Suttree. I think McCarthy is a great contemporary author. I've read The Crossing and Blood Meridian and Suttree is high on my TBR list.

Completed my Old and New 12/2 Challenge today. None will be my one of my lifetime favorites but it certainly was an interesting, varied selection of books.

Completed my genre challenge today with A Fine Balance for the category of Diversity Classic, read a book from a religion, culture, country, or race different than yours. A Fine Balance met all four qualifications for a diversity classic.

Thank you Bob, Brina and Sara. Yes, A Fine Balance was very good. It really highlighted some of the abysmal conditions in India. I imagine some of these problems have been taken care of but I am sure that with their massive population many of these conditions still exist. I think my only complaint about the book was its reliance on coincidence which seemed excessive. Yes Bob, I will be joining several challenges in the 2021 challenge buffet as well as Bingo.

Congratulations Janet. Lonesome Dove and A Fine Balance are among my all time favorites. I'm glad to see you loved Rabit Run. I want to get to that near the end of 2021 if I can fit it in. I won Suttree and the Poisonwood Bible and need to fit them in.
