One of the secondary storylines involves DeLuca and Briar. He had a sense of foreboding about the operation and had a strong reaction to her being involved with anything to do with Bautista. Was he being overprotective, truly scared on her behalf or a bit of both? Your thoughts about the scene where she was tased and stopped breathing?

I really love this couple. He was realistically afraid for her dealing with Bautista. I don't think he was being overprotective. I think he was really scared. When she was tased and stopped breathing, I did too! All I could think about was how will this man get over seeing both of his wives die. It was a very emotional scene.

Matt was truly concerned about her working with such a known dangerous and vicious person. He had no idea who Miguel truly was inside. He was right to be sacred for her.

When his deepest fear came true and she got tased and stopped breathing, I almost cried too.

That was edge of your seat hold your breath stuff. Matt’s desperation was chilling. I think with his history he was justified in his feelings of fear for Briar. He’s probably afraid every time she’s on an OP. I think he’s earned the right to be overprotective.

I was conflicted about DeLuca. On one hand, he came across as a hypocrite and not respecting her skills. Why is it okay for him to go on his dangerous Ops and not her? On the other hand, his history with the loss of his first wife clearly had an impact.

In the end, I felt like he had an instinctive premonition about this particular op, heightened by his past experience, and he wasn’t being sexist.

Oh, that scene where Briar got tased...it was so well done! I could feel everything everyone was feeling. I got emotional, too.
